Designed with both pro users and exacting homeowners in mind, this Hertfordshire-built petrol roller-mower from pioneering UK garden-machinery producers Hayter incorporates aerospace technology for superior cut & collect capability and offers extra-robust build-quality, simplicity of operation and powerful performance.
That punch-packing power comes from a 160cc Honda GCV160 engine with Honda’s fuel-saving and durability-maximising OHC technology; and their automatic mechanical decompression system for comfortable, low-effort pull-starts.
An internal oil-bathed timing-belt works with a resin cam to drastically reduce engine-noise; while Dura-Lube provides superior engine-lubrication for less reliability-compromising wear and tear.
Built to handle the rigours of all-day-every-day commercial use, the Hayter Harrier 41 Pro combines reinforced handlebars with heavy-duty wheels, a no-rust cast-aluminium mower-deck and a protective front-bumper.
It’s equipped with a stripe-producing rear-mounted roller, which is split so as to prevent turf-marking when manoeuvring; and it features Hayter’s Autodrive self-propelled transmission, whereby power-driven rear-wheels make it easy to mow on inclines and rough, informal areas.
The Hayter Harrier 41 Pro Autodrive Rear-Roller Lawnmower has seven cutting-height positions, with a lowest setting of just 13mm making it possible to achieve a very close-cropped finish where required (selection is via a single counterbalanced lever).
A Trim Side means less follow-up strimmer work, as you can mow flush against walls borders; while an Easy-Wash hose-pipe fixture makes the job of under-deck cleaning a breeze.
Also of note is the impressively roomy 60-litre grass-collector, which is fitted with a sail that prevents dust and pollen from rising up into the operator’s face; and the polymer roller that will withstand the corrosive effects of moisture and chemical fertlisers.
This compact 41cm model is ideal for areas around 500m2 and is backed-up by an extended two-year warranty for both domestic and professional use; and a lifetime guarantee against crankshaft bending.

Top NotchReview by Jason Burns Gardening Services / (Posted on 09/12/2017)Nothing wrong with this machine. Heavy to lift but cutting quality is first class , great Honda engine. Shame the oil refill isn’t on the top of engine like the Briggs and Stratton but hey that’s only a minor point .
Very very happy. Well made .

Awesome MachineReview by Jigsaw Garden and Tree Care. / (Posted on 24/07/2017)I can only find one fault with my new harrier 41 pro, the clip on rubber handle. Other than that I hope Hayter go the same way with the 48 pro and 56 pro, then I can upgrade them as well.
Well done Hayter, AWESOME machine.

Thoughtful Design & Solid Build Quality

Thoughtful Design & Solid Build QualityReview by Jia / (Posted on 22/07/2017)I'm not a professional landscaper, but I do have OCD with it comes to looking after my lawn. Hence I decided to fork out £700 for this professional grade machine.
The design is purposely simple, but very solid. The engine comes with manual choke to avoid auto choke sticking with age. No variable speed drive, weakest link on belt driven systems, so again nothing to break there. Chassis is solid 1 piece aluminium, so no flex when lifted and turned by the handle. Blade is high lift, bags very well, ok I do wish they made a 46cm version but never mind.
Engine is Honda GCV 160, well proven and tested. Sounds quiet and deep, over kill for a 41cm system, but more is better than less for me. Not much else to say about the engine, it just works with first pull every time.
This thing is heavy, 43kg to be precise. I had a Mountfield SP465R before this, that had a 46cm cut width but only weighed 34kg. So need some muscles to lift it off the ground, but split roller at the back makes turning so much easier than the 1 piece design on the SP465R. With it being heavy, it produces much sharper stripes than my previous roller mower.
Negatives. The operator presence lever feels a bit loose and made from plastic, would have preferred metal. Also the hand rubber grip moves about a bit in operation, will stick it down with glue at some point. Bag handle is thin, would have preferred something a bit more substantial.
Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase.
