Featuring four-wheel drive, this fantastically well-equipped and brilliantly engineered sit-on mower from Mountfield is a superb performer on steep inclines, and will take rough and/or damp terrain in its stride.

A dedicated recycler, the Mountfield 4155H has no grass-collection facility. Instead, cut grass is shredded while being held under the 95cm Multiclip deck, before it’s scattered evenly across the turf. The tiny particles of grass will rapidly decompose, releasing a multitude of beneficial nutrients and micro-organisms as they wilt.

The out-front deck design on the Mountfield 4155H Front Cut Ride-On Mower not only makes it possible to mow into tight corners and under low-hanging trees; it also gives you a completely unimpeded view of the cutting-path. To help you cope with changing weather-conditions and grass-lengths, the deck-height can be set to any of nine positions between 30 and 80mm.

The Mountfield 4155H has combines fully articulated, servo-assisted steering with a foot-pedal controlled hydrostatic transmission, so it’s one of the most intuitively manoeuvrable ride-ons you’ll ever drive.

It’s fitted with an industrial / commercial Briggs & Stratton AVS-29 four-stroke engine that develops a huge 15.5hp, and which employs an OHV-type layout for ultra-dependable performance; improved fuel-economy; and quiet, low-vibration operation. A headache-alleviating electric key starter ensures your blood-pressure won’t go through the roof when you’re firing-up the engine.

Other stand-out features include a cavernous six-litre fuel-tank for fewer refuelling-breaks; and a nine-stage height-of-cut for flexibility of use and a ‘just so’ finish.
