The set-up process couldn’t be more straightforward – simply position the supplied base-station in a convenient position; peg-out the border wire around the zone to be mown; and then input your desired start times. The Yard Force Compact 400RiS will then set-off at those times and mow your lawn under its own steam, before returning to the base station for battery charging.

The Yard Force Compact 400RiS Automatic Robot Mower offers a remote-control capability as standard – you’ll be able to communicate with and control it using your smartphone via the CloudHawk app, even if you’re out and about.

It combines impressively powerful mowing-motors with three ultra-sharp steel mulching blades to optimise cutting-performance in heavy growth; and it comes with a 20v lithium-ion battery pack, which is characterised by its longevity, speedy charge-times and lengthy runtimes (you’ll get an hour’s mowing on one charge).

Automatic cut-out sensors work to maximise the safety of children and dogs by stopping the blade the second the unit is tilted or lifted; Yard Force’s cutting-edge iRadar ultrasonic sensors prevent collisions by detecting obstacles and re-routing the mower.

Its high-performance brushless drive motor and high-traction wheels enable it operate successfully on gradients up to a substantial 30%; while its pin-code activation system acts as a deterrent to theft, rendering it useless to anyone without access to the pin number.

The 400RiS is remarkably quiet in operation, so you’ll still be able to enjoy your outside area if you’re around when it’s working.

It’s multi-zone capable, so it can be programmed to mow separate areas individually; and it boasts infinite-increment height-of-cut adjustment, which makes it possible to create the sort of finish you prefer.
