Stats show value of mowing the lawn
Chances are, if you're reading this blog post, you like mowing your lawn. Quite a lot probably.

But new statistics compiled by eReplacementParts in the US have shown just how beneficial cutting your grass regularly can be!

For example, did you know that having a well trimmed front garden can add as much as 11 per cent to the value of a home? While at first this might seem ridiculous, it shows the rest of the property has probably been well looked after.

This money boosting stat seems to have had an impact on the American public and the average homeowner in the nation spends approximately four hours mowing their lawn every week. Talk about dedication!

But while finances might have a big impact on why we tend to our front yards, it also appears there's a chemical reason as to why we adore our greenery so much.

The pheromones released when we mow grass make people feel relaxed and happy, with some scientists even claiming it might prevent mental decline in older aged people.

However, a minority of Americans love a good lawn but don't want to put in the effort themselves and 26 per cent of homeowners hire professionals to properly maintain their garden.

Here at MowDIRECT, we salute our US cousins for their commitment in having some of the most beautiful gardens in the world.

But even though the phrase "everything is bigger in America" normally applies, a huge number of Brits struggle to mow their lawns if they are lucky enough to own a larger property.

Sure, there are a great range of petrol mowers on the market, but those looking for something with fewer emissions sometimes can't find a solution to their eco-trimming needs.

We think we've found the answer: the Bosch Rotak 43 Li-Poly Cordless lawn mower, which doesn't need to be plugged in and can charge to 80 per cent battery capacity in just 30 minutes. Just enough time for a pint!
