This year many new inventions will come available, so here to whet your appetite are ten hot machines which are both useful and practical.

It is a self-propelled mower with a 53 cm cutting width making it suitable for larger lawns.
The Honda 160 cc engine minimises vibrations and gives loads of power for even the rough edges.
The cuttings heights vary from 25 to 82 mm and the large wheels mean you can easily drive it over rougher ground.

Mountfield 827M Compact Lawn Rider and is especially suitable for those with narrow paths and gates to negotiate.
The working width is 66 cm making it very manoeuvrable and Mountfield’s own 196 cc engine is started with a key, so no tugging on a starting rope.
It has four forward and one reverse gears and a 15o litre grass box which packs in the clippings.
There are six cutting heights from 25 to 80 mm and there is an optional mulching kit and trailer hitch.

And finally a machine for the true arm chair gardener.
