This year's lawn mower racing season has been hot with action.
Spectators watching the climax of the West Midlands (WM) Lawn Mower Racing Association were thrilled to see local favourites Weedy Gonzales clinch the title after a close-cut (ha!) race against The Baiting House.
Drivers can reach speeds of up to 30mph and a number events have taken place over the summer – with spectator fees raising money for local charities, according to the Ludlow Spectator.
Club secretary Roger Thirlby from Tenbury Wells congratulated contestants and said: "We look forward to an even bigger season in 2014. We would welcome any new teams looking for technical support and any would-be track marshalls."
While we don't recommend you use our mowers for racing (seriously, it's a bad idea!), our products are fantastic for keeping lawns nice and trimmed all year-round!
