This year's Great London Plant Fair, which was hosted by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has come to a close and the gardening charity singled out daffodils as one of the highlights of the event.
The cold weather appears to be finally behind us – so picking up your garden tools and planting some of the colourful blossoms could be a quick fix for green-fingered enthusiasts who are keen to bring their garden back to life.
Senior shows development manager at the RHS Lucinda Costello acknowledged that most gardens are still waking up from the extended winter season.
However, she said that this show was the ideal riposte to this trend, as it showcased some of the finest spring blooms.
"The standard of horticulture we have seen, with new and unusual plants that you wouldn't find together anywhere else, makes it a real treat for any plantsman," the expert commented.
