Two snow blowers to keep you working through the winter months

Winter has really got her teeth into the weather and further heavy falls are forecast for Friday and the weekend.
So here are two snow blowers suitable for larger domestic properties and business premises to keep you going through the freezing weather.
These are the type of machines widely used on the continent and in Scandinavia where they keep working no matter what the weather.

Stiga Patrol dual stage snow blower

Serious machine: Stiga Patrol dual stage snow blower

The Stiga Snow Patrol Dual-Stage Snow Blower has a working width of 55 cm and an intake height of 50 cm so it can clear pretty heavy falls of snow.
A 182 cc engine drives a steel toothed auger which breaks up the snow and ice and throws it back to an impellor which then churns it up even more before blasting it clear.
The drive to each wheel is controlled separately to make it highly manoeuvrable and chunky tyres give excellent grip when it’s slippery.
The exit chute rotates through 180 degrees and is operated from the driving position as is the deflector plate to change the angle of the discharge.
Skid shoes on the front enable it to slide along the snow and are adjustable depending on the surface underneath.
This machine costs £599 compared with the maker’s recommended retail price of £679 and there is a one year manufacturer’s guarantee.
MD Snow Cat snow blower

Caterpillar tracks: MD Snow Cat snow blower

Another serious machine for clearing larger areas is the MD Snow Cat currently on special offer while stocks last.
This one has the advantage of caterpillar tracks to get through the harshest of conditions and is aimed at those with longer drives, car parks and local authority areas to keep clear and working.
A 270 cc engine drives the two tracks to give great manoeuvrability. And the two stage machine has front augers to cut through even heavy drifts and an impellor to throw the snow away.
An electric start makes it easier for the operator to fire up.
The exit chute is fully adjustable from the driving position and with a working width of 70 cm and a working depth of 54.5 cm it is made to deal with large areas of deep snow.
There is also a headlight to keep you working when it gets murky.
Currently you can save £900 on this machine.
The maker’s recommended price is £1899, we normally sell it for £1199 but it is currently in our clearance sale for just £999.
Plus there is a one year manufacturer’s warranty and free next working day delivery.
