Gardeners are an inquisitive bunch and take their inspiration from just about anywhere.
One of the best places to pick up some great tips before reaching for the garden tools has to be stately homes, however, and the gardens at Brechin Castle are no different.
In fact, this Sunday, their gardens will have been inspiring horticulturalists for 70 years.
Speaking to the Brechin Advertiser, head gardener Laura Keenan said: "The garden is looking good. We go to an amazing amount of effort to get the garden looking so nice ahead of this event."
"The gardens are so gorgeous that I have to pinch myself at this time of the year," she added.
Brechin Castle grounds cover an astonishing 40 acres – including a unique, 30 acre walled garden.
The gardens will be open on Sunday May 6th for one day only as part of the Scottish garden programme.
Tickets cost £4 for adults, £3.50 for senior citizens and under-12s get in for free.
