Buy now to beat the VAT increase

It might be the start of a cold spell and the last thing on your mind is the garden, and especially the lawn, but you could save a fair sum of money by investing in a new lawn mower when there’s frost or snow on the ground.

The chancellor has warned us that VAT is to rise to 20 per cent from 17.5 per cent in the New Year. So by a simple calculation, if you are thinking of buying a new ride on mower for next year which will cost around £1500, you can save yourself nearly £40.

And it doesn’t take a mathematical genius to work out that if you’re thinking of a more expensive machine the savings will be substantial.

But you should also be aware that many manufacturers have warned us that they are issuing new price lists from next year and we anticipate increases of at least five percent.

So if you purchase now for the forthcoming Spring and Summer you could save a serious sum of money on a new lawn tractor.

And what’s more, if you take a careful look at our site you will find several end-of-season offers which we have negotiated with some manufacturers.

So even as winter tightens its grip it will pay to think of the summer ahead.
