Hints & Tips
Hard to believe, but in a few weeks’ time lawns will put on the first spurt of Spring growth, just at the same time as all the rest of the garden comes to life.
Then there will be shrubberies to spruce, seeds to sow in the vegetable patch and general tidying up after the winter winds and floods have done their worst.
And once the lawns start to grow you’ll need to mow them regularly right through to late autumn.
If there is a reasonably dry and warm spell now you can give them the lightest trim to encourage more vigorous growth once warmer weather arrives.
If you have a larger lawn you will need a stronger machine with a wide cutting width and if your old one slumbering in the shed won ‘t do another summer, now is the time to think about a new one.
