Three new hedge trimmers from a leading Japanese company

Three new hedge trimmers from a leading Japanese company

May Day brings in blossom and vibrant growth and the one area of the garden you will notice more than any other are the hedges.

In the last few days huge amounts of growth have started and to keep the garden looking neat these straggling twigs need to be trimmed back.

Tanaka rightly has a very fine reputation for manufacturing excellent trimmers and here are three new models which have recently come on to the market.

First is the Tanaka TCH22EAP2 (50) Petrol Hedge Trimmer, a machine powered by a 21.1 cc two-stroke engine which uses Japenese technology to be very economical on fuel and emit fewer harmful emissions.

It starts really easily and has 50 cm double reciprocating blades which are really strong when it comes to cutting back thicker growth.

A front-mounted exhaust makes it nicer to use and with a 180 degree rear handle it can get to the more difficult bits in the hedge.

It costs £239, £50 less than the maker’s recommended retail price and has a five year warranty. We deliver it free the next working day.

The Tanaka TCH22E-BP2 (62) Petrol Hedge Trimmer has a 21.1 cc Tanaka engine which gives terrific power with excellent fuel economy and few emissions.

It has been designed to be easy to start to minimise decompression kick-back and has 62 cm double-sided blades to let you cut large areas of hedging in double quick time.

With tooth spacing of 35 mm thicker hedge stems can be tackled and the 180 degree twist grip makes it easier to get to hedge sides and tops. And if you’re left-handed this is a really useful feature.

It costs £299 compared with the recommended retail price of £340 and we deliver it free th next working day.

And it has a five year warranty from Tanaka.

And the Tanaka Tanaka TCH22ECP hedge trimmer Petrol Hedge Trimmer is made for extensive home use and for the commercial gardener as well.

With a 21.1 cc engine and easy-starting technology it has special anti-vibration features so you can use it for longer periods.

The 62 cm double-reciprocating blades and large fuel tank mean largher hedges can be tackled and with a 35 mm tooth space it will cut through thicker stems as well.

Bruising the cut stems will also be kept to a minimum. And the 180 degree twistable rear handle also makes it easy to use on hedge sides and ends and also lets you shape the tops.

This one costs £345, a huge saving on the maker’s recommended price of £409. It has a five year warranty from Tanaka and we deliver it free the next working day.
