This Italian-made machine has a front augur to break up th4 snow and ice and force it into the body of the machine. Here an impellor takes over to throw it up to 12 metres away.

The engine is from Loncin, 182 cc and specially designed to run in freezing temperatures.

Five forward and two reverse gears and deep tread tyres move it along and front sliders are adjustable to suit the surface you are clearing.

The MTD ME 66 Snow Blower / Thrower is a two-stage self-propelled machine has a clearing width of 66 cm and a 277 cc Snow Thor X special engine.

Again it is a two-stage machine with a 53 cm high intake hood and a front augur protected by sheer bolts in case you hit something solid.

It has four forward and two reverse gears, controls are grouped together where you can adjust the exit chute to throw the snow where you prefer.

It has an electric start and a handy front headlight.

The maker’s recommended price is £1299 but we have it for sale for £799. Delivery is free the next working day and there is a one year warranty from MTD.

And finally another on special offer and a machine built to tackle the toughest conditions.

TheMD SnowCAT 2-Stage Snow Blower with Caterpillar Tracks has a 270 cc engine and moves along on tracks which gives great grip and lets you turn on the sport.

The two-stage operation has a 70 cm working width and working depth of 54.4 cm.

It has an electric start to get you on the move quickly and a front headlight  for working when it’s murky.

It is currently for sale for only £999, a full £1000 off the maker’s recommended price, but stocks on this model are limited.
