Zero-turn lawn tractors with a wide cut for large estates and parks

Many of us have given the lawns their first gentle trim of the year or are promising to do it the next dry day, when the time is right, when it’s been serviced, after the weekend internationals on the television.
Choose your own excuse.
But if you are the owner of really large areas you really should cut lawns and grass as soon as you can, that is if you don’t want to make hay.
Modern lawn tractors and ride-ons are much easier to use and can get even large lawns trimmed much more quickly than older machines and here are a couple with great manoeuvrability to work around trees – even those blown down by dear old Doris and not yet sawn u and cleared away.
If you need a new mower for a large area here are a couple of crackers, the first, the Toro ZS4200T Timecutter Zero-Turn Ride-On Mower.
This mower literally turns on the spot with transmission which allows you to control the speed of each drive wheel and steer the machine with absolute precision.
It is driven by a 708cc V-Twin Toro engine and has a 107cm twin-bladed cutting deck with side discharge and a mulch kit. Collecting the clippings with an optional bagger kit is possible. Cutting heights are from 38mm to 114mm.
The cutting deck has small wheels to follow the ground closely and prevent scalping and with its top speed of 7mp you can cut large areas very quickly.
Once finished, you can clean out the cutting deck by simply attaching a garden hose.
It costs £3299 compared with the recommended price of £3759 a massive saving of £460, and has a three-year warranty with free delivery within three to five working days.
A wide range of optional extras are available – there’s even a sun shade.
And here is another machine for larger areas and on special offer at a very keen price.

This is another side-discharge machine with cut grass laid out to the side. For a more formal finish there is a mulch plug which is easily fitted.

There are 12 cutting heights selected via a foot pedal and it has a front bumper – just in case.
