A Chipper Off The Old Blog. Electric or Petrol, Which Should I Choose?

Now. I know it’s a terrible cliché to start a piece of writing with ‘People always ask me… blah, blah, blah’ and it’s almost always followed by a total fabrication. However, in this case Iam making an exception. People often ask me (see not ALWAYS but often, a bit more thoughtful) …people often ask me ‘Should I choose a petrol or electric chipper or shredder?’ This is a particularity apposite question at this time of year when we are definitely thinking of clearing foliage making mulch and dealing with the branches that the next tail end of a hurricane will bring down.
In response therefore, I am taking some advice I wrote sometime ago and recycling it, for ’tis the green and responsible thing to do and recycling writing saves energy (mine) and sometimes you just have to tell it like it is. So here it is…
So if that is your kind of ‘thing’… we have the very ‘thing’ for you. The Einhell BG-KS 2040 Electric Garden-Shredder is only £99.95 and is German engineered and quiet.
It will deal with pine-cones. and will take branches of up to 40mm in diameter.
However, if you want to get serious on your branches, leaves and garden waste, have a large garden or an estate the size of Paul Hollywood’s hair-gel cupboard or need to shred or chip a large volume of big branches, then you probably need the go-anywhere, chip anything, all-purpose power of a Petrol chipper/shredder. Maybe like this fabulous and best selling Ardisam CS10 petrol Chipper Shredder which offers a 305cc Briggs and Stratton engine and sells for an amazing £999 (VAT Included).
