Overall, a Pretty Good Mower.
Review by Mr Collins / (Posted on 09/07/2017)
This was the first battery powered mower I had purchased and used. Having read previous reviews saying it was difficult to put together, I didn't find it too difficult at all. A little force was needed to put the grass box together but in general it was straight forward.

One thing I did find was that the grey plastic bolt-clips used on the sides to connect the handles together were an issue. When I was mowing the border up close to my fence, they protruded past the wheel line and therefore rubbed up against the fence before the edge of the mower touched the fence, so I took the bolt-clips off and put them on the inside instead and this solved that issue.

The mower itself is fairly lightweight and easy to manoeuvre which the elderly will find beneficial. The batteries - I have a good sized rear lawn and found that if I was only taking a light skimming off the lawn then it would use 1 full battery and then 3 of the 4 lights off the second battery, so that was fine.

However, if the lawn is a touch longer and you want it to work a little harder, then this might be an issue. The mower makes a different sound, like a 'little turbo' has to kick in to help it and I found this reduced the battery life significantly. I would only get a third of the garden done on one battery and then when I was to plug it in to recharge it the battery was fairly warm and the solid red light would come up to say the battery was too hot and I had to wait a while for it to cool down before it could charge. So by the time i had then finished using the second battery and still hadnt finished the lawn i had to wait a while for the batteries to charge up before I could finish the lawn. (Normally i found the battery would take 30-40 minutes to fully charge).

Overall, the mower itself is a good little machine and it also puts a nice striped finish on the lawn too.

Good and light mower, cuts well, old one battery gave in before mower. New model gives two batteries, only need one to do the same mowing as old one.

Light and easy to handle and manoeuvre. One battery does our 350 sq. metre lawn, plus half of the smaller back lawn. On the second charge the battery lasted longer so I expect it will improve over the next few charges.

A delight to be free of the dreaded cable.

It has done better than expected. I can cut all my lawns which are all on different levels. This is why I purchased this product as the petrol one was just too heavy to keep lugging up & down.

This Mountfield cuts really well, the battery lasts a good length of time, it is light & very easy to use compared to my petrol mower. I would definitely recommend to anyone

Strong Little Performer

I recently bought this lawnmower and from the start I am surprised by its excellent performance. There is little assembly required when the lawnmower arrives and if one follows the instructions it's easy to do.

Once assembled, one can insert one of the two batteries and start using it right away. The batteries were pre-charged and ready to use.

On my first use, the battery needed to be replaced halfway through my averaged sized lawn, but now that I have used and charged the batteries a few times I am able to finish on one battery. It's a strong little performer!

This is just a great company, the staff are so helpful and very courteous. I had so much help buying the machine, very happy with the company and its wonderful staff.

I finally chose a Mountfield cordless, which has also made me very happy.

I had a electric lawn mower before and, although l was pleased with the performance of the mower, I was fed up of the cable and the safety aspects. I thought a petrol mower would be too heavy as my wife would also use it.

I have only used it a few times and 1 battery charge is enough to cut our lawns. Also I intend to buy other accessories so 2 batteries is very handy. My wife is very impressed as well because it make light work of a weekly chore.

The only criticism is a flimsy hight adjustment handle.

Was well worth the wait. Swapped it for a Mountfield petrol. So light and manoeuvrable and excellent height adjustment. Only negative was putting the grass box together, just wouldn't snap properly together and still won't. This lets it down but apart from that, I highly recommend it.

I bought this as we have just moved to a house with a large garden and I didn't want cable running everywhere, or the faff of petrol. It does as it says and works very well, with the battery having sufficient charge to complete the mowing in one pass. Cuts well, even long grass.

Good mower cuts well

Good mower cuts well

The grass box comes in three parts and some of the the plastic had not been trimmed off when made, so took nearly 30 minutes to get the box together after clipping to front. Then it would not fit together because of the extra plastic which I had to get to and could not get the the front clip apart.

After this all was OK and the cutter works well.
