Description

MowDirect have negotiated an exclusive arrangement with the market-leading manufacturer of this smart and efficient self-propelled lawnmower, so you can benefit from the best in Italian style; years of experience and acumen; and European build and engineering at an amazing discount. Every self-propelled mower needs a reliable, efficient and powerful engine and you would have to go a long way to find a better example than the smooth running EMAK K600 OHV; its advanced engineering providing plenty of torque to drive both wheels and blades and which delivers excellent fuel economy and very few emissions; far fewer in fact than many mowers in this class. The cutting width is 46 centimetres so the Oleo-Mac G48-TK Comfort-Plus is suitable for medium-large sized gardens and it comes with onboard cutting height adjustment, central and lever controlled for convenience and ease when you need to adjust to the grass conditions and length. A large grass collector - 60 litres - means less emptying and more mowing, and of course, the self-propulsion, at 3.6 kph, saves you a great deal of time and effort, assisting you in dealing with rougher grassed areas and included terrain. Solidly built and robust, made with top quality components, every section of the mower is well thought out and made, from the handle mounted starting chord to the ball-bearing mounted wheels, which ensure a smooth run and won't seize up, even over time. Even the handy bail-arm controls feel substantial and stable and reassuring and this lawnmower comes with a three year extended guarantee for complete peace of mind.

Features

  • Very high quality, durable steel deck
  • OHV petrol engine with low emission, easy start and great fuel economy
  • Generous cutting width for medium sized gardens
  • Large sized grass collector for fewer emptying visits
  • Ball-bearing mounted wheels for smoother motion and easier push
  • One of the lightest petrol mowers available
  • Extended warranty for peace of mind

brilliant very easy machine to use, started first time out of the box, word of advice, read assembly instructions thoroughly first and familiarise yourself with the parts, took me about a hour from delivery to be cutting the grass. it tackles long grass and a very uneven ground. the instructions for assembly are very basic, i put a few components upside down, soon realised my mistake though. A brilliant machine.

Decent mower but Bought this petrol mower after previously only owning electrical ones. Put the machine together ok apart from throttle arrangement. Not very clear in instructions. However Mowdirect help line were pretty good at getting it sorted

Find mower quite heavy to handle and probably a bit over sized for an average garden. Best for big gardens and people used to handling petrol mowers but does cut well

Good Value Mower with Excellent Features Initial impressions are that this is a fairly well constructed mower, with good features and a pleasing finish. Assembly took a little longer than I thought it would but all becomes clearer the longer you persist. There are a number of nice touches, such as cable clips and handle decal, that lift this machine above others in the market.

Once filled with oil (VERY IMPORTANT) and fuel it started on the first pull.

Excellent Mower But...... Very good mower with excellent power and performance. My only problem is not with the mower itself but the instructions. Having never owned a petrol mower and had no idea how to use one I wish that the instructions supplied were an idiot's guide on the starting process i.e. Throttle position, do I need to hold the brake etc etc. This is my negative with this mower/ instructions.

Very Efficient Service with a Great Quality Machine Bought this model as part of the supplier's 'Black Friday' deals. Can't believe what I got for the money. Good sturdy machine that starts first time. Can't rate performance yet as conditions are not right but judging by what others have said there should be no problems there.

Yet to prove its worth but certainly can't complain about what I've seen and trialled so far. Delivery was quick as was customer service with a query about the build. Can't fault at this point in time.

My only real criticism is that the assembly instructions are not very clear and I had to refer to the photo to see exactly what the assembled product was supposed to look like.

Brilliant 18 Inch Mower at Affordable Price I needed to replace my 18 inch petrol mower after 31 years of reliable service. I looked at the same brand and others at garden machine retailers. I decided to look on line and came across MowDirect. Their product range is large and covers all price points. I finally settled on the Ole0-Mac G 48 TKComfort Plus, read the reviews ( 4*/5*) and placed the order. Two days later the mower arrived. I assembled it in about 1 hour, filled it with oil and petrol and it started on second pull.

I have a large garden and used it twice. It does all I require and I would buy it again. As an engineer I am sure that with regular oil changes it will give years of service. During my research for a new mower I contacted MowDirect on two occasions and received good honest advice.

I would recommend MowDirect

Good - So Far First, the assembly instructions could be better. For example, if they told you to fit the lip on the front of the grass box first that would be helpful, as it is a struggle to pull it over the frame after the side clips are fitted.

After assembly it started second pull, so that was good. Made a good job of my 400 square metre lawn at the third highest setting, lower than that was too close. The grass was quite long after a lawn weed and feed a month ago and a cut two weeks ago by previous mower before it died.

The bar that you need to hold to keep the engine running and the bar that needs to be squeezed to engage drive did not seem to align well so I will have a look at them.

Wear a Glove...and Buy Some Glue This is a budget machine, so I know I should not expect the Earth, but there are several features of this lawnmower that could, and should, be better.

The "dead man's handle" and self-propulsion clutch close from opposite directions. The result is an obvious potential finger/hand trap, in which the web between my left thumb and hand frequently resides. I have found that a glove on the left hand helps.

As others have commented, the cutting-height lever protrudes and becomes entangled with vegetation. The grey plastic knob on the handle can come apart when this happens. I found mine under the hedge, then glued it back on. The grass catcher is not as difficult to assemble as some make out, but it is certainly not easy. I have more doubts over the durability of the back cover, which is far too flexible for me to think that it is going to last.

All in all, a very good example of getting what you pay for. If you are on a budget, this mower is OK. If you are the type that gets annoyed by a lack of attention to detail, you'll need to look elsewhere.

The engine is very easy to start, however, and the cutting performance is entirely satisfactory

Excellent Value Fairly easy to assemble. Took me about 20 mins.

Started on second pull of the cord. Really cannot fault it at this price, though there are some elements that could be better, like the drive cable (which has slipped out of the handle twice so far) and the height adjuster which is a bit flimsy and has the habit of getting knocked by passing vegetation. But at this price it is far cheaper than any other equivalent.

Very Pleased As previously commented on, the instructions are a bit unclear but the machine was fairly easy to put together.

There is a warning on the box saying there is no oil in the machine but the instructions don't tell you to put any in which would perhaps be a useful reminder. It came with a bottle of oil which was a bonus because some reviewers had said there wasn't any with it.

The mower is incredibly easy to start, it is heavier than our old electric one which is only to be expected (especially as we filled the tank to the max) but the joy of having no cable to contend with makes up for this!

We have used it three times, the self propulsion took a bit of getting used to, but we're getting the hang of it. I'm delighted that it cut damp grass with no trouble at all and didn't leave messy clumps of cuttings all over the lawn like our old machine did.

Great Machine at Competitive Price. Having approached several different firms while looking for a replacement mower, MowDirect was the first that actually knew anything at all about the product they were selling, and this was very reassuring when buying the machine. The order was placed, and true to their word it was delivered on the very next day.

Preparing the machine for use was very simple and straightforward as it was supplied very largely already assembled. The assembly instructions were written in several languages, and were not the easiest to follow. Probably the most difficult part of the assembly was in putting the grass collecting box together where the instructions were arguably the least helpful.

Once ready for use, having filled the sump with oil from the supplied plastic bottle, and after filling the petrol tank, the engine started on about the fourth pull.

This machine is fitted with a throttle control where at one end of the throttle lever the choke position is ‘travel’ while the other end is very slow running position. Having a throttle enables the machine to be run at a speed that suits the person operating it.

The cutting height is operated through a single lever control which does its job, but feels a bit flimsy.

Once running, the machine is easy to operate, and does a good job with cut grass being gathered into the part plastic and part fabric collection box. The collection box has plastic hooks which secure it in place. Arguably those hooks may prove less hard wearing than the rest of the machine.

It has proved to be a very easy machine to start, easy to operate, relatively quiet in use, economic on fuel, has a long warranty subject to annual servicing and is good value for money.

Superb Quality Mower at Such a Low Price. I've had this mower for over a year now, and even after a cold winter in the shed it started after 5 or 6 pulls, now it starts after 1 or 2 easily.

It barely struggles at the low rpm it runs at and only the wettest of grass gives it a hard time. A full tank of fuel is good for half a season of cutting the front and back lawn. Two tanks for a full season is a lot better than any of my previous petrol mowers.

Excellent build quality and very easy to use and stow away, just be careful when folding the handle not to catch the cables on the fulcrum point.

Good Value and More Than Satisfied with Performance I selected the G48 model as the specification met my requirements and the price was very competitive.

The mower arrived on time as promised and assembly was straight forward. The useful tips from the Customer Support Team were very helpful and when I pulled the starter cord it fired up first pull and has continued ever since.

My only complaint is with the grass box. It is difficult to locate and has to be sprung apart to clip onto its mountings. No doubt with practice this will improve, otherwise very satisfied.

Excellent Bit of Kit This is the second Oleo Mac I have bought this year with my first purchase being a G53, that's how impressed I am with the company and equipment.

I am a newly formed company this year and obviously expenditure is at the heart of my business although I understand the rules on warranty etc. Today is the first time I have used this mower and I must say it has proved to be as good as my other mower. The service as before was great from MowDirect with delivery being very quick.

With regards to the G48, It was assembled in double quick time (although you need three hands to put the box together.) The mower started on the first pull and was very easy to use and very manoeuvrable around garden objects.

My only criticism would be, if any, the operating levers on my G53 are comfortable to use as they are formed plastic levers. The levers on the G48 are what appears to be quite primitive metal levers although they do work fine. Overall I would recommend this manufacturer and equipment to any one. Thanks MowDirect.

Good Machine Let Down by some Build Issues. Build quality let down by the Grass Collector box. Awkward to assemble, the two halves had a twist from packing/transit which prevented alignment of the upper handle joint. Kept springing apart and had to secure with tape to hold it.

Drive performance drops considerably on an incline even with the RPM set high. This is worse when the Grass Box is heavy.

Nice Bit of Kit. Does Exactly What it Says on the Tin. I read lots of reviews before I purchased and they were spot on. I found the assembly instructions extremely difficult to work through. With vague pictures and bits skipped through the text.

Petrol and oil a doddle to put in IF YOU TAKE YOUR TIME. Once up and running, overall the mower is a dream to use and did my medium sized in no time.

As other reviewers have stated, if you find the mower almost cuts out, you'll find that the bucket (grass collector) is full. Would have stumped me if I hadn't read the reviews!

Very Good Budget Mower Received this mower yesterday to cut the reasonably level 500sq.m lawn at our new house. Assembly took significantly less than an hour (two 10mm spanners or spanner and socket are needed to attach the throttle-lever assembly) - very easy. There is a two-position height setting for the handle - not a lot of variation, maybe 5cm at the top, but useful. As others have mentioned, the most difficult bit was to assemble the grass-box; it is a bit fiddly, but starting with the long straight on the bottom and working round to the tricky curves around the handle worked well.

Having a four-stroke engine means no daft mixing of oil and petrol - oil down one filler-neck, petrol down the other and ready to go. Starting the engine for the first time was a bit difficult due to restricted mobility in my hands - 10 or 12 attempts and a bit of sticky tape to hold the engine-stop lever up to the handle - but after that there were no problems.

Adjusting the height is very easy - one lever by the rear-right wheel puts it to one of five heights. This was the first cut of the year. I'd done the smaller part of the lawn with our old electric mower before the weekend and ended up very tired and sore. Setting the new mower to the middle height and then letting the power drive do most of the work was a revelation! Allowing for messing about around trees in the lawn, I was expecting to have to do the big lawn in two attempts, but the big grass box and the power drive meant I did the lot in about three hours.

The only problem was more with me than the mower - it took time for me to realise when the engine was at risk of stalling due to grass building up around the blade (still a bit damp). I got a bit frustrated until I realised a) the warning signs of a stall and b) when to expect to empty the grass-box to avoid build-up.

I noted that one user had commented that the paint had become damaged on his, so I power-washed the underside before putting it away to examine the chassis. I could find no signs of paint damage, but I had not been anywhere that would pick up stones etc, so there shouldn't have been.

Overall, I'm really impressed with this mower. There is one section of lawn which is about 1:4, with a sudden change, but the mower took it with little difficulty (though that is where it would tend to stall if there was any build up of grass). Well worth the money if only because I can get out of a chair without wincing today!

First Class Mower Supported by a First Class Service Having mulled over the decision regarding the purchase of a machine for several weeks, to my surprise it was delivered to me the following day. Assembly was simple and mainly consisted of attaching the handle and clipping the cables in place.

The grass box comes in two pieces which must be pushed together and fixed with four screws and that's it.

I had petrol, but had to buy oil which cost £7.30. Filling the machine with oil is a bit frustrating in that the oil is clean and clear but, taking care and pouring slowly you eventually see when you have the correct level.

The machine started on the second pull and I cut my wet lawn in half the time taken by my old push along model. Well done MowDirect.

So Far All Good This mower was well priced and reduced to £219. The reviews from other buyers helped me decide to buy this one. The delivery was very fast with good communications. It seems well made and robust.

It didn't take long from the box to the lawn and ready to mow. I have used it just once so far for about 40 minutes and it performed very nicely. It started easily and didn't appear to use much petrol. It is not too heavy which is an advantage if you are female.

Hopefully it will last a reasonable time, but it's too early to tell. Nice colour! My rating is based purely on one time use and general impression.

Early Impressions are Very Satisfactory I had to replace, in mid-season, a relatively new and more expensive machine of another make that had proved insufficiently rugged and durable for my sloping and none too smooth lawns. So far I really like this Oleo-Mac.

I find the cruising speed just a shade slow on the flat compared to what I'm used to. On the other hand, it goes uphill well and downhill rather faster. I just have to avoid kicking the grass box as I walk, which is not too much off an imposition.

The cut is very satisfactory for my purposes. The rigid grass box is more easily emptied than a collapsible one was. Starting and re-starting are reliable once you are used to the method.

I really have no complaints at all, which is not something I could have said about its predecessor. It remains to be seen, of course, how long it lasts, but it's off to a good start and not displaying any obvious problems.

Only two small gripes - the grass box is awkward to detach from the mower when full and the strong spring-loading on the cover presses the sharp plastic edges against your arm while you are trying to free the box.

Really good value for money I have a medium sized garden with quite a lot of grass and this mower was easy to assemble, started first time and is light and easy to manoeuvre. I am a lady and so not very strong and still found the pull start easy to use.

Well made, good price and service, poor cut!! Have used this mower 4 or 5 times now, and mechanically it is great, it's just that it doesn't cut close enough. I have used cheaper mowers for years and have never had this issue!! Will be contacting MowDirect regarding this issue,

Very Good This is the best Lawn mower I have had in a very long time. The build quality is very, very good. I am very happy with the first cut on long grass and I think we will get on well together. MowDirect - a big thank you. I will tell my friends about you

Good looking product The product arrived well packaged and in good order. First thing you need to know if you purchase one is you need to go out and get a litre of mower oil (5W30), it would have been nice to have one included or even an optional purchase with the machine.

The machine went together without problem and started first time, however the performance is very lacklustre. The quoted power output does not seem to relate to the real world and petrol consumption is high.

Overall an average machine.

Good machine, easily handled, quality cut Next day delivery and easily assembled. Bolt securing throttle device missing but supplied 3-4 days later. Started first pull and quality cut. Spec says 3.6kph but find the drive slow. Feel could do with a 33% increase at least. I am a reasonably fit 72 year old.

Good product, well made. Excellent performance Mower was delivered promptly and was very easy to assemble. Very easy to start and performance is first class.
Delayed slightly until engine oil was purchased. Perhaps a 500cc bottle of oil could have been included? Just a small point.
