Power comes from a high-specification 6.5hp Briggs & Stratton engine; an Industrial/Commercial-grade OHV-type unit that’s renowned for its smooth, clean-running performance and low levels of fuel-consumption.

Quality engine features include gear-driven lubrication for reduced wear and therefore a longer engine-life; and a Magnetron® Electronic Ignition for fast, reliable starting at each time of asking.

The Masport 6.5XL Petrol Chipper-Shredder has twin hoppers; a cone-shaped one for bushy branches up to 50cm in diameter; and a wide-aperture one for softer debris like leaves and grass-cuttings.

Branches are fed through a hardened-steel flywheel-mounted chipper knife that will turn them into woodchips that are ideal for flowerbed protection; while the shredder mechanism comprises nine metal flail-hammers, which will finely mulch organic debris, leaving you with a material the perfect consistency for fast decomposition.

Built to last, the Masport 6.5XL features a rotationally-moulded UV-resistant poly hopper and 5mm-thick steel side-plates, ensuring the unit will cope with years of heavy-duty use.

Longevity is further enhanced thanks to the provision of a belt-drive that will absorb any overly heavy load, thereby sparing the crankshaft and engine from damage.
