Description

Designed and built in New Zealand to exacting standards, this quality petrol rotary-mower from Auckland-based manufacturers Masport is a great-value choice for the more discerning amateur gardener!

With the Masport 200 ST Petrol Lawnmower you’ll enjoy premium Briggs & Stratton power from a 450E-Series engine. These super-efficient 125cc units get through very little fuel, and, thanks to their OHV design, will prove smooth-running, clean-burning and quiet in operation.

A hand-propelled lawnmower needs to be easy to push, so Masport have kept the weight of the 200 ST down to just 26kg, and have mounted all four wheels on double ball-bearings.

A spacious 46-litre grass collector – made from fabric rather than plastic for convenient storage – means you’ll complete the job with few time-consuming emptying-stops; while single-lever cutting-height adjustment ensures selecting the most effective blade position for the conditions couldn’t be more straightforward.

The Masport 200 ST Hand-Propelled Petrol Lawnmower features Comfort Start, whereby the recoil starter-grip is positioned on the handlebar so as to eliminate the need for uncomfortable bending when firing-up the engine.

This model’s mid-sized 46cm working-width makes it a good choice for lawns up to 800m2.

Features

  • A lightweight and easy-handling push-type machine ideal for lawns where manoeuvrability is essential
  • Powerful but clean-running and fuel-efficient 4-stroke OHV engine from B & S
  • Handlebar mounted starter-cord grip eliminates the need for uncomfortable bending
  • Ball-bearing wheels and steel deck confer superior longevity
  • Multiple cutting-height positions for precision results
  • Quick and easy single-lever height-of-cut adjustment
  • Collapsible catcher and fold-down handlebar save space during storage

Good But Some Bad Points It’s a good cheap mower for what I is, but I find it hard to start when the engine gets warm and don’t understand this, when it starts first time from cold.

Overall it gives a good cut and does a good job

Good and Bad Features This machine has been very reliable, starts easy. Gives a very good cut at different heights. The drawbacks for me are that as a push mower (compared to self-propelled) it is very heavy, which means that it is not so manoeuvrable round the bends and turns of my lawns, leaves very deep wheel tracks in the cut grass (no/much lesser marks would be preferable to look at), and the large grass box means that, when nearing full, it tends to tip up on the front wheels.

Workhorse Mower Bought this after killing off several lesser mowers, four grass seasons ago. I really should get a new blade, as the stones and bits of brick in our yard have chewed the original but it STILL cuts well even with a re-re-resharpened blade!

Only issue so far is the tension spring came off when I accidentally rubbed it against a tree trunk! Super tough little mower.

Excellent All-Rounder Never had a Masport before but very pleased with it. It came boxed and took 15 minutes to assemble. It doesn't come with oil, so you need to buy that too.

The one-lever hight adjustment is easy to use and is strong, the deck is rigid and the wheels roll the mower effortlessly over really long grass. Once ready it started first time, and has started first time ever since.

My grass was 9 inches tall, and it cut it with no problems. The engine really has a lot of power. I would definitely recommend this mower.

Not as good My old Masport was passed its best so searched Internet for replacement and saw the Masport 200. It had good reviews so i thought why not but not happy with it because the handles dont fold flat so harder to carry around in a car. And Machine will start first time from cold but once hot never starts first time takes a few minutes to get it going .The machine is like a Mountfield not a Masport; def not buying this model again.

Replaced a twenty year old mower I searched the internet to find a good replacement for my old Partner mower reading all the reviews from different mower manafacturers I came to this site and there was the answers to my requirements, I gave the mower its first trial today and it started up first time adjusted the cut depth a few times till I got the one I wanted and off I went the mower worked perfectly, found fitting the grass box a bit awkward to start off with but soon got the hang of it, I would say that one small problem that I could forsee would be a shorter person might have difficulty with the angle of the handle as I couldn't see any adjustment to lower it slightly but apart from that it did what I wanted it cut the lawns great. Would I recommend this mower? Yes, its a very good piece of solid engineering.
