Cheap But Takes Some Abuse!
Bought one of these always with the intention to buy something bigger and more powerful once I knew exactly what I needed. In the meantime I have thrown 3 acres of long grass and scrub together with hidden objects like an angle iron and stones at this mower.*
I've also used it to tow a small trailer often with upwards of 150kg in it. So it's safe to say I've thoroughly abused it. So far I've replaced the blade as that got mangled and I've bent the deck and had it bent back into shape. The hub has survived all this abuse as have the pulleys and bearings.
The rear engine cover doesn't fit quite right so I've cut a bit off to stop it vibrating. Build quality generally is as you'd expect from such a cheap mower- average at best. The knob for the forward and reverse selector fell off and had to be glued back on. The deck on this is significantly smaller than the width of the mower which is a bit frustrating but any bigger and it would struggle with the small engine.
It's surprisingly comfortable, the seat is good and this twinned with the flex in the chassis gives it a good ride. It's easy to get in and out of and the engine has started first time every time.
I'd thoroughly recommend this mower especially if you've got about 1/4 to 1/2 acre of garden to mow. Turning circle is excellent.
* Editor's Note: We thoroughly recommend checking your grass for obstacles/objects before you mow. Even the toughest deck won't respond well to hitting an angle iron
