Description

Enjoy a whole host of premium features and experience unrivalled flexibility of use with the new-generation Einhell GC-PM 56 SHW Petrol Rotary Mower.

Its remarkable versatility is thanks to its five mowing-modes, which are as follows:

Collection

Collection is ideal for tackling heavier springtime growth and will enable you to achieve a neat and tidy finish.

Mulching

Mulching is particularly suited to summer and late-spring conditions and saves time by eliminating the need to bag clippings. The decomposing mulch will furnish the turf with essential nutrients and moisture.

Cut & Drop

The cut & drop function is designed for informal areas where bagging clippings would be a waste of time.

Side-Discharge

Side-discharge is great for rough, overgrown areas and can also be used for topping lawns during the summer months.

Rear-Discharge

When in rear-discharge mode, an angle-adjustable deflector makes it possible to manage long grass.

The Einhell GC-PM 56 SHW employs the German manufacturer’s cutting-edge Vortex deck-technology, whereby a specially-shaped blade combines with a one-piece pressed-steel housing so as to optimise under-deck aerodynamics, in turn ensuring a pleasingly neat and consistent finish.

It’s supplied with a largest-in-class 80-litre grass-catcher that’s equipped with a level-indicator to prevent overfilling and spillage; and it gives you the choice of six preset cutting-heights, which are straightforward to select using a simple single-lever mechanism.

Power for the Einhell GC-PM 56 SHW is supplied by a high-performance 173cc (3.8hp) Einhell Low-Emission Series engine with an OHV configuration for improved fuel-economy and super-smooth operation; and Quick-Start for fast, low-effort pull-starts.

A large one-litre-capacity fuel-tank ensures increased productivity by minimising downtime; while a cast-iron cylinder sleeve delivers optimum compression and superior durability.

Boasting self-propulsion via the rear wheels, the Einhell GC-PM 56 SHW 5-in-1 Hi-Wheel Self-Propelled Petrol Lawn Mower will come into its own in gardens containing inclines and/or areas of rough terrain.

It’s fitted with a three-step height-adjustable handlebar with separate positions for both storage and cleaning; and large-diameter drive-wheels for increased traction on slopes and enhanced long-grass manoeuvrability.

Other quality features include a soft-grip that lessens vibration-transfer to the operator’s hands for a less tiring drive; and an integrated carry-handle that makes it easy to move up steps or lift into the car boot.

great value purchased 2nd hand for a big lawn we really should get a ride on for. prime pull and it starts. runs off a drop carb so run empty at the end of the year and it will take a full pulls to restart after you prime and a few pulls. big cutting area , mulching is great. with the rear wheel had a bit better traction but that would be it. will be v easy to service. re the china comments lol, if people only thought that through and how many parts of the machines, phone, tv, kitchen stuff etc is made in china. its not china thats the problem with build quaility, its the spec the companies give to china to make the parts that matters. great mower and would have been happy to pay the new price. has cut 3 acres so far ( 3 x 1 acre at a time) and its great.

Started Well then went Downhill Thought I would write this review as you do not see very many that are compiled over a long period.

Bought this 3 years ago and it performed very well indeed, it chomped through long grass with ease, this carried on into year 2 but towards the end of summer the pull cord broke, I took it apart myself and went to order a new pull cord but that was not available so I had to buy the whole assembly, fixed it on and back to working well.

Year 3 (2019) Got mower out of my shed went to prime it and the plastic had simply rotted away, still managed to start it after a few pulls but now when it gets hot (after approx 45 mins use) it just cuts out and I have to wait an hour for it to cool down before it will start again. Last Saturday went in my shed only to be encountered by a very strong petrol smell, saw fuel leaking from under the engine cover! I was going to take it to be looked at but am now contemplating taking it to the tip and buying a Hayter which I had before for 10 years and never had 1 problem.

My conclusion is the parts used are very cheap hence every year there is another issue so be warned about this product, worse £450 I ever spent!

Outstanding Service MowDirect are a fantastic company ! A real pleasure to work with. They are extremely knowledgeable of their entire range and I had my mower the following day!

The Einhell - quality bit of kit! Power is outstanding and feels a robust machine for the little I've used it! Powers through the job, mulches brilliantly and is surprising easy to manoeuvre despite its size!!

The only down side would be the manual- which is arguably a bit overly comprehensive and a bit like war and peace. But some people might like that!

Good Value for Money Mower I bought this machine in June and have used it more or less continuously since then ( 1 X per week). Over the six month period it has performed well. It was easy to put together. The first start was a bit difficult and required a good tug but starting has since been getting easier the more I use it. Starting from hot is dead easy.

There were some comments about it being a Geman quality product but disappointingly made in China. It hasn't done Apple any harm. All in all a good mower for large areas of grass.

Good Mower for Large Areas Mower arrived a few days after ordering. Easy set up. Cuts well on long straight runs. Would be too heavy for a lot of cornering. Disappointing that mower became £50 cheaper a week after purchase!!!

Does What it Says! MowDirect were superb when my first Einhell packed up after going back to Einhell three times. Einhell were great too, no questions, just picked up and fixed (or not) so MowDirect and Einhell replaced it with the new model.

It's big and easy to use, just two screws in the handle, stick in the oil and petrol and bosch you're off. Very quiet engine. Took a few tugs to start from new, but starting from warm is dead easy. The wheels are plastic so on damp grass there is little traction.

Mower comes with a mulch function you don't now need a special blade for it, as you did before. No throttle on the new model, just on and off, which works fine as there's less to go wrong. Overall it's good value for money. Don't expect top quality as it's built in China (as is the engine) and you can see the cost cutting but for the price it's good value given its size. Time shall tell about its durability.

I think they know the old model's throttle might lead to problems and have addressed that. First cut today with the new model and all was fine. Can't praise MowDirect and Einhell customer service enough though, they were very very helpful.

Don't Be Seduced I am afraid I don't share the positivity of others. This mower is heavy and solid but comes with a Chinese made engine which I found a devil to start and despite the number on paper is very poor on damp grass, it doesn't have the power. It has been back to Einhell twice and comes back worse than when it went. I shall be going back to a Japanese model for my mower, shall sell this second hand and try and forget about the hassle I've had.

In summary, don't think you're getting a nice German engine because you're not, it's Chinese and I found it poor at starting and has poor performance.

MowDirect gave a good service though, delivery was good and the price is highly competitive so no complaints with them. I shall buy my Japanese one from them next!

Excellent Build Quality Only tested the mower out briefly, but from looking at it, and comparing it to other makes I have had, it's far more sturdy, excellent build quality and really looks robust.

Delivery was quick, all the oil and instructions in the box. Took 5 mins to assemble the handle and it started on third pull. The bag, when full, makes the engine stall. As soon as you realize this and keep an eye on the bag full indicator it makes sense.

Looking forward to long term use.

Like a Tank It's like a tank: big, powerful, heavy and pretty much unstoppable. Excellent for what I want but definitely not for fiddly lawns. Starts efficiently and cuts like velvet. You could pay three times the price and still be happy.

My only crit' is that its self-powered speed is slower than my walking speed. I call it the Panzergrassewagen.

Powerful Beast of a Mower for the Money I bought this as my existing mower couldn't cut the meadow grass, despite being on its top setting. This mower was easy to assemble and easily coped with long grass with its side chute. Then at the second cut, I used the grass collector to tidy it all up. Great having just one lever to adjust cut height. Does the rest of the lawn beautifully at low settings.

It is as heavy as it is big, so would be tricky doing too many turns and lifts, but is great for big stretches of lawns.

Can be a bit fiddly to start, have to switch to choke position each time I restart after emptying the bag but it's a minor problem. Wish I had bought it sooner!

Very Impressed Arrives virtually assembled, a few simple tasks putting together the frame, put in the engine oil provided and some fuel and away it went; no priming or fiddly settings on the engine, the throttle lever controls those automatically and it fired second pull of the recoil.

Its a beast of a machine for the money and cuts neatly. The speed is a comfortable walk and the self propulsion does all the work.
be warned it is a heavy mower should you plan lifting it in and out of a vehicle ( some home made ramps did the trick )

A pretty tough piece of kit that copes with my acre of lawn and rough boundary grass with ease.

Good quality at a reasonable price. This machine really is a great piece of kit.

I read all the reviews and did the comparisons. I now appreciate that what other reviewers said is correct .This mower is SOLID. No plasticy bits which feel flimsy. It appears well built. It is heavy and can be difficult to manoeuvre in confined spaces, but it excels at mowing large expanses of lawn very quickly.

I have found the handle on the grass collector not easy to grip, but the mulching facility is good and means there is no need to collect the grass cuttings.

Assembly was straightforward and the multi lingual handbook was not really necessary - pictures on the delivery box were a good guide.

The purchase process was easy and the website comparisons were of great assistance in making an informed purchase. Delivery was next day !

Would I buy again ? The answer is Yes. In fact, I am now awaiting delivery of an Einhell Brushcutter !
