Description

New and exclusive to MowDirect, this cutting-edge German-engineered lawn mower from Einhell offers top-of-the-range features and added versatility at an extremely competitive price. It has a generous 47cm cutting-width and boasts five cutting-functions; a combination that makes it ideal for maintaining both lawn and rough-grass areas on medium- to large-sized properties. The cutting-modes are as follows: collection; mulching; side-discharge; rear-discharge; cut & drop.

It will cope equally well with wet or dry grass and has a powerful yet impressively clean-running 139cc OHV engine that's really easy to get going thanks to Einhell's Quick-Start system.

Its six-stage height-of-cut is adjusted by a single lever with a large push-button handle that has been ergonomically designed for added comfort and ease of use; while its large-sized wheels provide added manoeuvrability and extra stability on less even ground and come mounted on ball-bearings for smooth motion, even over time.

The handles on this model have a soft-grip for enhanced operator comfort and control and can be adjusted to any of three positions to suit the height of the operator (there are also handlebar positions for convenient cleaning and storage).

The Einhell GC-PM 47 SHW features Einhell's new-generation Vortex technology that combines an aerodynamically-optimised blade with a smooth single-piece-steel deck so as to produce a powerful blast of air which forces the grass upright before it's cut. This means you can be confident the finish will be enviably neat and consistent.

Other premium features include rear-wheel self-propulsion, which you can disengage for close-quarters mowing around obstacles; and a grassbag level-indicator that ensures more efficient mowing by eliminating the need to stop and check if the roomy 75-litre catcher is at capacity.

As a special offer MowDirect is supplying this mower at a greatly reduced price, plus there is an extended Two-Year Guarantee from the manufacturer for added peace of mind.

Excellent purchase This was needed to replace my McCullough 15" machine that was struggling with our new garden lawn. I needed something that could cope with 600 sq metres. It arrived well boxed and needed minimal assembly, really just fix the handle to the body, fill with oil (supplied) and add petrol. Good instructions for use.

It started easily and is very quiet. A doddle to use if a bit heavy, but that was expected. Great machine and very pleased with it.

Well Worth It! Having recently moved house and having spent hours looking at different makes and models for my first petrol lawnmower, I finally went for the Einhell based mostly on the reviews here and the apparent good value and low price for a larger multi-function mower. The wider cut, large collection box and the mulching feature were what I decided I should go for in my budget.

I ordered at lunchtime on a Friday and the delivery man struggled down the driveway with the box late on Saturday afternoon. Excellent service!

Having waited until the weather improved I assembled the mower in about 15 minutes without any issues, although I echo the other reviews in that the poorly laid out instruction manual doesn't help matters(-1*) so I took more time than I really needed, but ultimately you only need to connect the handle and give everything else a once over. I added the petrol and the oil provided, primed 3 times as instructed and it fired first time.

It is quite heavy to use in tight spaces but when self-propelled it's great and a nice leisurely pace so no risk of it taking off abruptly! The cut seems very good (started on high setting and then lowered later) and the large collection box means very few trips to the bin, although it's a little awkward to refit the box until you have the knack. Each time I stopped to empty, the mower started up again on the first or second pull when I returned. The motor is very quiet compared to my Dad's Mountfield and the build quality seems very good.

Overall I'm glad I took the plunge and there now seems little point in considering paying similar money for a mower with fewer features or poorer build quality.

Quality bit of Kit I'd spent ages looking on the internet for a decent petrol mower after my old Mountfield gave up the ghost. With a medium sized lawn I wanted something not too expensive (sub £300) but that would give a decent cut and be built to last.

This Einhell seemed to fit the bill so I took the plunge, and I have to say I'm delighted with it. It's really solidly built (hence the 4* for Ease Of Use as some may find it a bit heavy if having to lift it anywhere), but it feels like it will last for ever - much more solid than anything i'd seen in a well known DIY store. It started easily, gives a really good cut, and the speed of the drive motor is spot on. The grass bag is also a good size.

Can't fault it, and at this price it's a bargain.

Difficult to Find Fault Had a variety of petrol mowers over the years but this is the first powered one. This is definitely the best quality of any mower previously owned.

It's certainly heavy but easy to manoeuvre around obstacles and effortless when you pull the power handle. Previous reviews have criticised the instruction booklet and I'd very much agree with that. I didn't realise the mulching plug had to be removed until I'd finished the first cut and was surprised that no grass had collected in the box!

One further good point is that it comes with a bottle of oil so you have everything you need to begin mowing except for petrol. Ive already recommended this mower to a neighbour and would do the same to anyone. Great value for money.

Happy Customer Old Yamaha mower has finally died, and this item looked like a good replacement, especially the Mulching option. Couldn't see the real thing so bit of a gamble - most of the reviews were good so went for it.

Pleased with what I got, only used once so far. Did a good job of first winter mow, tried all the options, mulching etc. Starts well, handles well, reasonably quiet. Heavier than the previous mower, but not a problem. Would recommend as a good purchase. (The only downside is sorting through the 25 different language instruction sheets.)

Horticulturalist Review after 4 Months of Ownership I'm a Horticulturalist, plants and gardening are my forte.

Bad bits: I purchased this mower for the attractive price and the features. Upon arrival I was impressed; it looked great! However I immediately noticed that the front wheels were slightly out of alignment; they were both facing outwards. (like this: \ / ) My friend, told me I was being pedantic however both front wheels seem to want to pull outwards. This makes cutting lawns in straight lines irritatingly difficult, you find yourself going on it at a slant rather than a direct line.

The quality of the cut is good on shorter grass, however the Eco engine is quite low revved so can struggle from time to time.

Good bits: The build quality is so far very good (apart from the wheels). The Eco engine is great starts first time every time and is an easy engine to start, despite struggling occasionally is very fuel efficient and VERY QUIET (The first thing i noticed when i fired it up for the first time)

The quality of the cut is good for the price of the mower - although higher quality mowers tend to pick up the grass better. (Simple test run your hand overt the grass after cutting, watch how many clippings spring up after).

The operating speed of the transmission is steady; not to fast nor too slow. The ejection features also work well and grass is ejected without too many blockages.

Overall a good mower for the domestic user with an above average sized garden. I hope this review is of some use to a future buyer.

This is the Best Lawnmower We Have ever Had: We received our Einhell GC-PM 47 SHW 5 today and from opening the box to using it took a very short while and was exceptionally easy to assemble. As value for money it far outweighs any other models we have used , i.e. Mountfield, Webb etc. and is a quality machine, very quiet and amazingly smooth and runs like clockwork.

For the money I couldn't want for a better machine and the build quality is exceptionally good. Very glad we picked this make and model which did so after much deliberation and the reading the excellent reviews.

Great Machine This is an excellent mower. It starts very easily, and works very well. The cut and collection of cuttings is good, and it has a capacious grass box. I appreciate the flexibility in handle height and the range of length of cut. The downside is plastic wheels that haven't got the traction on difficult terrain or wet grass.

Nice Mower. Not much of a Mulcher Bought the mower for its mulching function. All it appears to do is drop the cut grass back onto the lawn, hence the low performance score for my requirements.I thought a mulching function was to chop the cut grass finely before returning it to the lawn. Reading the instructions I now have to buy a mulching blade to improve the function. Less than ecstatic about this unexpected cost for a non quantified improvement.

As a standard mower it works fine. Starts easily, adjusts height easily, wheel spins a bit when starting to mow.

Does the Job A sturdy budget machine that starts first time and is responsive. As others say, it's a bit heavy, but a bit of technique probably overcomes that. I like the mulcher even if it wasn't evident on assembly what or where it was. Lots of choice in height of cut. All round a good buy.

After 15 months since purchase I am glad that I got this on special offer at about half-price, because the design is poor in that grass collects in many places including under the plastic cover over the drive belt and round the wheel drive gear-box.

As it is difficult to access these places and the grass, when wet, has caused the spring on the cable connected to the gear-box to rust and break. The spring is not available on its own, so comes with two cables. Dismantling and reassembly is very tricky. I have now found that one of the rear driven wheels is not being driven and both have very worn bearings.

Soon after purchase I had a problem in that the choke/speed control lever was in a vulnerable position on the outside of the frame. It got broken as I mowed round an electricity pole, so I fitted a new one on the inside of the frame

For the price - amazing. I did not realise how much my original mower had deteriorated until I tried the Einhell.

It was delivered less than 24 hours from ordering but I admit I was a little apprehensive that I had gone for one too cheap. After using it I think I have a bargain.

New mower, new garden Needed a new mower as my other one was flattening the grass but not actually cutting it!

After much umming and ahhing, I went with this one. So far so good and very glad I did. Easy to assemble, easy to start and easy to use.

Little things make this easy to use. The easy start, referred to above, means you don't have to dislocate your shoulder to start it, whilst the bag has a little flappy thing on it which lies flat on the bag when the bag is full, saving you having to look every 5 mins.

Very happy!

Excellent Product Bought this petrol mower for my husband to replace our old worn out one and he loves it. Lovely cut and easy to use.

He said it's much easier with self propulsion, no pushing required. Ordered on Friday - delivered on Monday, excellent service on both parts. Already passed details on to a couple of friends. Many thanks, happy customer.

Good machine for medium to large size lawn First things first. The service provided was excellent, delivered next day with regular updates and after care service was great as well.

I was torn between this and the Einhell 51, but opted for this due to the fact it was lighter by around 7kgs. And did I really need something that big when this would do the job?

I have a large garden and wanted a mulching feature, as I didn't want to be filling up the green bin every few minutes.

I have used the mower twice now, once on mulching and once on grass bin collection, and both worked great. I personally prefer the mulching feature as per the paragraph above, plus it is good for your lawn.

Assembly is straight forward, though the manual could have made the job easier, but this is my first petrol mower so if I can put it together in 15 mins then anyone can.

Only slight slip was the engine did not restart on the first time of use, when it had been running for about 30 mins. I let it cool down and then 10 mins later it worked again. Spoke to MowDirect who stated it was probably down to the spark plug provided with the machine. Therefore they sent me a different branded one and on the next use the mower worked a treat. That is why I down graded the performance to 4 stars, but it performs great now.

This is a great machine and even though nearly 40kgs you do not really feel it, my grass looks great and it does the lawn quickly and easily which is what I wanted.

Hope this helps if you are thinking about purchasing this machine.

Mostly Good I bought this model 4 wks ago. Great powerful motor, cuts very well and is the first self-propelled mower I've owned, so good marks for convenience.

It is only compromised by the use of plastic tyres, rubber would be better, also very poor hooks to hold the grassbox in place. All in all, good value at a sensible price.

Excellent mower The mower arrived the day after purchasing and was very easy to assemble. I used it on grass about one foot in length the day after, which the mower coped with quite well with just a few blockages. I put that down to the grass being quite wet underneath. All in all I am very impressed with this machine.
