Product information

Description

This high-powered petrol brushcutter has a 40.2cc (2.1hp) two-stroke engine and can be used for clearing tall grass and tackling scrub and other dense vegetation. It offers high-end design-solutions that guarantee consistently high levels of performance at all times; and has been built to withstand intensive, continuous work in tough working environments.

The professional-grade piston on the Efco Stark 4410T Petrol Brushcutter has two rings, which ensure ultra-dependable performance over time. Aluminium engine-housing provides protection against knocks and operating stresses; while the flywheel has been designed to guarantee constant cooling, even at high ambient temperatures.

Other quality features include a large-sized cloth air filter that works to minimise the ingress of damaging debris particulates. The engine has also been optimised for longer intervals between refuelling-stops and very low running-costs.

Efco Stark 4410T Petrol Brushcutter is equipped with 'cowhorn'-style handles, which have been specially designed to reduce the amount of effort required to manoeuvre the unit. All operating controls are directly to hand; and with the grip being separated from the engine, any fatigue inducing vibration-transfer is substantially reduced.

OK for a While This was a brilliant bit of kit. I've had mine two weeks longer than the warranty. The motor has essentially self-destructed after intermittent heavy domestic use.

But when it worked, it started well, had plenty of grunt and was comfortable to use. I am hoping I've been unlucky - not sure what to replace it with yet.

Wish I'd Bought A Stihl I bought this for strimming/brushcutting our fairly large and rough garden. It's big, quite heavy and has plenty of power. Initially it seems well built and durable.

The simple at-home construction you have to do is straight forward. However, it's never been an easy starter, and has had a tendency to cut out during use. The fuel-primer bulb split, which I got fixed under warranty by our local dealer.

Recently, after I'd had it for three years, (although it's only had about 15hrs work) it started leaking fuel. I took it to the local dealer, and mentioned that the head has always spun on starting and at low revs, and asked them to check that and the fuel leak. Now it's had a new clutch, I'm £110 poorer, and I wish I'd bought a Stihl. Or a Husquvarna.

Powerful, effective, and good value for money. I bought this machine because the angle-head gears in my Efco 8250 Ergo had stripped. Tried to get the parts, but Efco don't support machines older than 5 years, so beware. The rest of the machine's fine, so where's Efco's claimed environmental responsibility there, eh?

OK, sermon over, and as the above machine was probably a bit light for my place, I decided to go for the Stark 44. What a difference. (The machine delivered is actually the Stark 4400, probably the later model, so bear in mind when comparing with other sellers) The extra power keeps the speed up, and so far it seems to get far less material wound around the head, which was the biggest headache with the previous machine when doing heavily overgrown areas. I assume this is because of the continuous high head speed.

It's much more sturdily built than my last model, and consequently is somewhat heavier, but if you spend some time getting the adjustment of the handle positions to suit you, it's comfortable and well balanced, and I hardly notice the extra weight after a while. And, it's an excuse for an extra pint after a hard day's strimming.

All in all, so far I'm very pleased with it, and the MowDirect price and service must be about the best you can get.
