Top brushcutter to cut back the banks of weeds and brambles before they get out of hand

Every garden has scruffy areas you’d rather people didn’t see. Nettles, thick banks of weed and brambles galore combine to form a mini jungle.

And while you can tolerate these areas they do need to be kept down and cut regularly.

Modern brushcutters have made the job much easier than slashing away with an ancient billhook which was a backbreaking task.

And here’s one which is really comfortable to use as it has been designed to dampen vibrations, the design often used on machines made for the professionals who need to work for long periods.

Comfortable to use: Einhell GE-BC 33 AS low vibration brushcutter

The Einhell GE-BC 33 AS Low-Vibration Brushcutter is from a leading German engineering company and has a very effective system to mask the vibrations, using a double-bearing crankshaft and a triple shock mount.

An Einhell 32.6cc two-stroke engine gives plenty of power and torq1ue and has an automatic choke for easy starting.

A blade with three cutting teeth will cut through thick bramble and banks of weeds with little effort and is easy to use in a sweeping motion with its chopper-style handlebars.

It is also supplied with a twin-line strimming head for lawn edges and lighter areas of weeds and lets you cut down weeds close to fence edges and walls.

And when using this, you can tap the head on the ground to feed out more line. Changing the two heads is a simple task.

The cutting heads stop revolving when the engine is idling thanks to a centrifugal clutch.

And when a relative decides to borrow it there is a split shaft which makes it easy to fit into the car boot.

There is a wall bracket supplied for easy storage when not in use and the head is fitted with a guard to stop stones and debris flying around.

One customer commented: ‘Very Satisfied, Good Product, Excellent Service, Good Price.  Started easily and idled nicely. Brushcutter coped well with dogwood overgrowth. Changed to strimmer head – straightforward.’ Other reviews are here.
