If you have a larger lawn or rough grass like orchards or paddocks to keep looking spruce one of these lawn tractors from Mountfield will do the trick.

There are two versions, one with a manual gearbox and the other automatic.

The grass box holds 240 litres and bleeps when it needs to be emptied and powering it along is a 452cc engine with an oil pump to give it a longer life. The grass box can be emptied without leaving the driver’s seat thanks to an ingenious telescopic handle
There are five forward and one reverse gears and a large fuel tank holding six litres.
And the driver’s comfort is not forgotten with a sprung and adjustable seat.
Chunky tyres for good grip on muddy paths and wet lawns and a pair of headlights for working in the gloom complete the spec of this excellent and popular machine.
A deflector kit for use when cutting long grass can be purchased for an extra £109 and the addition of a tow bar for another £81 will turn the tractor into a machine which you can use all year round.
A trailer has its uses all year round and a dethatcher to tease out dead grass would be a useful little tool given the state of many lawns.

The Mountfield 1530H Lawn Tractor is very similar but benefits from a hydrostatic drive.
This means it drives much like an automatic car – more pressure on the accelerator pedal and you go faster, it’s as simple as that.
That combined with a tight turning circle means it is a very manoeuvrable machine making it easy to cut curving lawns and around garden ornaments.
The Mountfield 1530H costs £2249, just udner £200 less than the recommended price, delivered FREE, and with this one you can have it delivered the following day for an extra charge if you order by 3 PM – even on a Saturday.
It has a five-year warranty and normal delivery is free of charge within five to seven working days.
