Hints & Tips
I’ve just been listening to the international melodic, radio-blasting tour de force that is Adele, in her inimitable “Oi. You. Listen to me!” style singing ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ and found myself thinking how uncomfortable that would be for all of us.
The woman is terrifying. Not content with stalking every ex-boyfriend she ever had and knocking on the door of their marital home to ask what happened, or trolling them by calling them on the phone to say ‘Hello’ years after they broke up, now she wants to incinerate our water source and burn our lawns’ source of growth and survival.
However, foolish pop musings aside, we did have some rain over the weekend (and in fact, it is trickling down now as I write) so the grass is sure to be growing soon. And that means it is properly going to spring on in the not too distant future.
For example, the spring statement is due soon, where the government, via the mouthpiece of Philip Hammond tell us just how brilliantly they are doing and how well they are handling our finances, despite the fact that a lot of us are feeling like we found a pound and lost a fiver.
However. Don’t get glum. you can save a great deal on your gardening machinery by perusing our product pages.
My celebrated colleague and avid follower of the vine-tangled rituals of Bachus, Mr Dick Roberts, yesterday told us of the charms and abilities of a few choice AL-KO mowers starting at only £189 for the AL-KO Easy 4.2 PS Petrol Push
AL-KO is an old family business that was founded in more than 80 years ago and AL-KO garden machinery, mowers, tractors hedgetrimmers and leaf blowers are all, famously, engineered in Germany and made in Austria and are of a very high quality.
But whatever manufacturer you choose, we can help. We have a large range of petrol mowers, plus cordless battery-powered mowers, as well as electric mains powered mowers, automatic robot lawn mowers, hand-propelled lawnmowers, ride-on mowers and lawn tractors from some of the best brands around.
In fact, it’s the best range you will find on the internet, with the best prices, a number of exclusives and great deals ALL with FREE delivery, free oil with all petrol models and easy to use comparison tools to help you choose the ideal mower.

There is a wealth of information. These articles are all here in our lawn mower buying guides section. There is also a whole buyers guide section dedicated to questions and articles on ride-on mowers and tractors.
Or you could even look at our full equipment guides, where you will find detailed information on lawnmowers ride-ons and everything else. These are aimed at new owners but will give you a really good idea of how to use and maintain many types of lawnmowers.
And if, after all that, you need personal advice on which mower to buy or, in fact, on anything else garden machinery related, you can always call us on 0345 4588 905 (9am-5pm Mon-Fri & 10am-4pm Sat) where one of our friendly team of product experts will be happy to offer you impartial advice. They really know their stuff and have provided invaluable guidance to many, many customers. Don’t just take my word for it…
‘Great Service, Great Knowledge Great Range. I ordered a Garden Tractor just before Christmas, the guidance was second to none, the mower arrived straight after new year, the delivery driver showed me the ropes. I used it the following day and it shaved 2 hours off what was a 3 hour mow time. I would highly recommend MowDirect.‘ Mark W. (TRUSTPILOT)
