Battery power, the future of garden machinery

Battery-powered garden equipment will be hitting the headlines next year as more manufacturers introduce equipment designed to take advantage of the new technology.

Lithium-ion battery power has come on in leaps and bounds recently offering equivalent power to petrol but with no emissions and equipment which is far lighter.

And you will find that once you have made your first purchase of a battery-operated machine, you will not need to buy a new battery and charger each time you need something else as the battery will fit all the equipment in the manufacturer’s range.

Here’s a machine which will come in handy in the Spring when hedges start to grow, the Redback E522DQ-2Ah Cordless Hedgetrimmer.

Redback Cordless Hedgetrimmer
Battery power: Redback Hedgetrimmer

We worked with Redback to help develop their range of lithium-ion powered garden machinery, and this hedgetrimmer is a little cracker.

It is supplied with a 40V battery and charger and the motor drives 56cm double-reciprocating blades which will cut through even thick established growth.

It weighs only 3.2kg and the battery is held in a power belt.

The trimmer has a rotating rear handle so sides and odd shapes are not a problem and battery can be re-charged in 30 minutes. On a full charge it runs for 40 minutes.

We’ve put together a package which includes the trimmer, a 2Ah battery and a Fast Charger and well as the power belt and this in on special offer for only £199, a saving of £137.

And remember the battery will fit other equipment in the range as well.

We deliver it to you the next working day with a three year warranty,

Our full range of hedgecutters is here and have at look at these pages for some great bargains in our January sale.
