Ok, I know, I know. Late January, fog, frost even snow in places and here am I writing about lawnmowers. Well, there’s a reason.
Hayter makes some of the best lawnmowers available and they say that once you’ve bought one, you’ll never shift to a different brand. In fact, so do a lot of our customers…
“…perfectly good service from my previous Hayter 41, so was only too happy to purchase another one when it finally gave up the ghost.”, “Bought this to replace one I bought nearly 20 years ago and have to say it’s just as good!”, “Replacing the one I had for 20 years”.”The Harrier 41 from MowDirect was made in the UK and was just as solid as my previous one.”, “Having had a Hayter Harrier 48 for 13 years I know how good Hayters are.”, “My 1999 Hayter 48 finally gave up the ghost and I had no hesitation in purchasing the latest equivalent model as a replacement.”
As you can see, they are reliable, well-engineered and last for yonks – which is a very long time.
The company’s Harrier series are little crackers and very popular with our customers and now they have been tweaked so that they are better than ever.
Our new stock arrives in the middle of next month but if you are looking for a new model and have chosen one of these, now is a good time to pre-order one for delivery in February.
The New Hayter Harrier 41 Push Rear-Roller Lawnmower (Code: 374A) has an easy-starting Briggs & Stratton engine, 140cc gives good fuel economy and low emissions.
It starts easily because of the electronic ignition eliminating the need for priming.
The rear roller leaves a striped finish and is split to make turning easier – and it won’t damage the turf when you do so.
The aluminium cutting deck won’t corrode and the Vari-Pitch cutting system gives strong airflows to enhance the collection of clippings.
The grass box has a device to keep dust away from the user and when you’ve finished you can simply attach a garden hose and turn the blades to clean the deck.
It costs £549, £40 less than the recommended price and delivery is FREE. Plus there is a five-year warranty.
That machine is one which you push along, this one is self-propelled, the New Hayter Harrier 41 Autodrive Variable-Speed Rear-Roller Lawnmower (Code: 375A).
Providing the power for this one is a Briggs & Stratton 190cc engine, mean on fuel and emissions and low on vibration levels and noise.
This mower lets you adjust the speed according to the conditions and job in hand.
A split polymer roller will leave the iconic British striped finish and will let you turn with scuffing the lawn.
It too has increased airflow under the deck and you can also trim right up to the lawn edge and flush to walls and fences.
The grass box holds 60 litres and when you are finished just attach a hose and clean the deck by running the engine.
The recommended price is £735 but we have it for sale for £679 with FREE delivery and a five-year warranty.
This next new Harrier lets you decide the speed at which you want to work.
The New Hayter Harrier 41 Autodrive Variable-Speed Rear-Roller Lawnmower with Electric Start (Code: 376A) fires up the Briggs & Stratton 190cc engine at the push of a button.
The cast aluminium deck has a lifetime guarantee and again is designed to maximise the airflow to increase the efficiency of collecting the cut grass.
Again you can trim alongside flower beds and vegetable plots right up to the edge without the risk of the machine falling.
Cutting heights are from 13mm to 60mm and with Hayter’s Vari-Pitch technology airflow is increased according to the length of the grass.
The grass box holds 60 litres and you can trim close to walls and fences without the need of a strimmer.
It costs £779 compared with the recommended price of £835 and delivery is FREE. And there is a five-year warranty.
And the final new machine is the Top of Form
New Hayter Harrier 41 Pro Autodrive Rear-Roller Lawnmower (Code: 379A) is a sturdy machine designed with the professional gardener and owner of large lawns in mind.
A 160cc Honda engine provides bags of power and starts easily thanks to automatic decompression.
The engine is designed with a timing belt which runs through an oil bath and it has reinforced handlebars, an aluminium cutting deck and a front bumper.
The rear roller is split to provide a striped finish and it can handle slopes with ease. And again there are seven cutting heights right down to 13mm.
After use it can be cleaned by attaching a garden hose to the deck.
This has a five year domestic warranty, two years for professional use and a lifetime guarantee against the crankshaft bending.
It costs £799 compared with the recommended price of £855 and delivery to the UK mainland is FREE.
