Hints & Tips
You can’t put it off any longer.
If you haven’t trimmed the lawn and started work on the vegetable plot or flower borders this is the time to get cracking.
There are a thousand and one jobs to do but, depending on where you live, remember there is still a likelihood of sharp overnight frosts which can discolour a lawn cut too short or kill tender bedding plants.
Having said that there is still plenty of work for the holiday weekend and the week ahead, so here are ten top deals on garden machinery to make life a little easier.
First is a machine new for this year and exclusive to MowDirect.
Lawns need a little loving care after the winter and this is a great little machine to breathe new life into an old lawn.
Einhell GE-SC 35LI Solo Cordless Scarifier is the first of its kind, light and easy to use and great for a smaller lawn.
It has 16 steel blades to ease out moss and flat growing weeds as well as dead grass. This allows nutrients and moisture to penetrate through to the roots and lets the grass flourish.
There are three working depths and large wheels would scuff the surface.
As optional extras there are a debris collector and an aerator roller and the machine comes with a charger and two batteries.
It costs £199.95, £180 less than Einhell’s recommended selling price. We deliver it free the next working day and there is a two year warranty.
If you have a bigger lawn one will do two jobs for you. And again it’s new for 2016.
Einhell GE-SA 1335P Petrol Combi Scarifier / Aerator is a great value-for-money machine with an aeration roller with 20 knives to cut small slits into the turf and allow moisture in.
And there is also a scarifying roller with 26 spikes to tease out all the rubbish stopping the lawn from breathing. Changing the rollers over is fact and simple.
There are three working depths and the handlebars can be adjusted to suit the person using it.
It costs £199.95, an amazing £200 off the makers recommended price, we deliver it free the next working day and there is a two-year warranty from Einhell.
And we make no apologies for going to Einhell once again for the third machine as they design and manufacture solid value-for-money equipment.
The Einhell BG-MT 3360-LD Petrol Tiller / Cultivator is an exclusive machine with a set of six cultivator blades. There is also a set of crop protection discs which prevent damage to growing plants.
A 163cc engine powers the cultivator along, easy to start and reliable.
A brake-skid is adjustable and varies the depth at which you till. The handlebars are also adjustable to suit the height of the worker.
The machine is fitted with a dead man’s handle which stops the engine when it is release – there is nothing so embarrassing as an out-of-control tiller trundling across other gardener’s allotments!
The maker’s recommended price is £499.95, but we are selling it for £279.95, with free delivery and a two-year warranty from Einhell.
