Hard to believe, but in a few weeks’ time lawns will put on the first spurt of Spring growth, just at the same time as all the rest of the garden comes to life.

The Mountfield SP533 Self-propelled Petrol Lawn Mower has a 51cm cutting width suitable for lawns around 2500m2 with Mountfield’s own tried and trusted 160cc engine.
It is designed to give a powerful airflow under the cutting deck which ensures great collection of the clippings, even when wet.
Cutting heights are from 25mm to 90mm.
It costs £310 against the recommended price of £449, has a three year warranty and free next working day delivery.
Now another exclusive to us at a price the French would call tres interesant!
The MTX Jupiter 53SPA Self-Propelled Petrol Lawnmower is built around an aluminium cutter deck so it won’t corrode.
With this one you can either collect, mulch or discharge the clippings to the rear and it has a cutting g width of 53cm and cutting heights from 25mm to 75mm and a grass box which holds 75 litres.
Other features include a front bumper – well, you never know – and a carrying handle.

This next one is new for this year from a leading German company.

This incorporates Einhell’s Vortex technology with a specially shaped deck and blade which ensures that each blade of grass is cut when it is upright, leading to a better finish to the lawn.
It has a 173cc engine which starts with a light tug on the handlebar-mounted starter cord and the driving wheels can be disengaged from the engine, handy for when mowing in confined spaces.

This mower allows the user to set the speed at which you mow, a great advantage when mowing around tight areas and will let you collect, mulch or discharge the clippings to the side.

The next one is a rear roller machine, the sort you want if you prefer a traditional striped finish.

It also has a cutter bar friction disc so the crankshaft will not bend if you hit something solid.
