Lawn tractors to make the most of the estate’s green acres

According to the old saying, if March comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb.

And it’s March this weekend, the time of year when many get out their lawnmower to give the grass its first tentative trim.

March is actually a very changeable month, snow and gales one day and warming sunshine the next, so keep an eye on the forecasts and plan your mowing accordingly.

But if you have acres of lawn to keep looking its best, you will need a good lawn tractor and these two from Stiga are among the best you can buy.

Out front cutting decks make accuracy much easier – don’t be scared if you’ve never used a machine like this, they are very easy to drive and will give excellent results as the grass is not flattened before trimming.

With the Stiga Park 420 LM Ride-On Lawnmower you can either discharge the clippings to the rear or mulch them to give a better finish.

This one has a 344 cc Briggs & Stratton engine and you can choose either a 95 cm or 105 cm cutting deck – remember the price of the mower does not include the cutting deck.

There are ten cutting heights from 25mm to 85mm and the cutting deck is engaged by a foot pedal.

A key start and large fuel tank make this mower an ideal machine for estate use – and there are headlights to keep you working at night should you wish.

It costs £2420, is delivered free within three to five working days and has a three year maker’s warranty.
