Hints & Tips
Edges show off the finish of a lawn and if you leave them untrimmed it can ruin the whole appearance.
Strimming can be a smelly task with a petrol strimmer and also quite tiring as they are heavy machines, but here’s a way to get neat edges with little effort.
The Greenworks 24v Cordless Trimmer/Edger (2100107-A) relies on the latest battery power to provide a powerful machine which is also very light in weight and simple to use.
It relies on a 24 Volt lithium-ion battery which will give 20 minutes continuous running time and can be topped up at any time without harming it unlike other batteries.
It also holds the charge if you put it back in the garden shed when you’ve finished with it.
The cutting diameter is 25 to 30 cm and with nylon line you can work right up to path edges and trees.
The shaft rotates through 180 degrees making it easy to use right up to the edges and the line is automatically fed out.
The strimmer comes with battery and charger and costs £109.95. We deliver it free the next working day and it has a two year warranty from Greenworks.
The Greenworks 24v Trimmer/Edger with Pivoting Head (2100007-A) is a similar machine, light easy and very clean to use with no smell petrol fumes and no cables to worry about.
This one has a multi-pivoting head to get into the really tricky places and making sharp edges easier to achieve.
It will run continuously for 30 minutes – but remember you don’t have your finger on the trigger all the time.
It uses 1.65 mm trimming line which is easily fed out when more is needed and will cut for a 25 to 30 cm diameter.
And it has a variable speed switch so you can regulate the power depending on the grass you are trimming.
And remember it is much quieter to use, just a gentle buzz compared to a two-stroke engine.
It costs £119.95 and has a two year maker’s warranty. We deliver it free the next working day.
And there are special prices on other Greenworks tools which are great bargains if you already have the battery and charger.
