Predictions abound forecasting a winter more savage than last year’s and snow up to roof top level.
And it pays to plan ahead and order a snow blower now.
rather than leave it until the snow is so thick that the delivery lorries can’t get through.
Oleo-Mac is a leading Italian company manufacturing excellent garden machinery and has recently introduced two models excellent for most domestic premises and places like health centres and schools which need to keep open no matter what.
The first is the Oleo-Mac Artik 56 EL Dual-Stage Snow Blower with an electric start powered by a specialist engine from Loncin and incorporating an electric key start.
The snow and ice are first dragged into the front chute by powerful metal revolving blades.
Next an impellor takes over and blasts the snow clear by up to 15 metres through a chute which is adjustable both for direction and pitch.
There are five forward gears and two reverse and for maximum grip the machine is fitted with snow hog tyres.
The front sliders are adjustable so the machine can slide along the snow without damaging the surface and these are height adjustable.
It has a three year warranty from Oleo-Mac and is delivered free the next working day. It costs £579.
The second snow blower from this manufacturer is the Oleo-Mac Artik 56 Dual-Stage Snow Blower with a manual start.
This is a slightly less expensive machine but similar in other ways to the one above with a two stage clearing system and a 182 cc Loncin engine which can work at sub zero temperatures to win the battle against the snow.
It has a working clearance width of 22 in and throws the snow up to 12 metres away.
Again there are five forward and two reverse gears and the thick chunky Snow Hog tyres to give great manoeuvrability and grip.
This one costs £499 compared with the maker’s recommended retail price of £699.
There is a two year maker’s warranty and free next working day delivery.
