Wood is forced against a splitting wedge to do the job and logs up to 25 cm in diameter and 52 cm long can be handled with ease.
Both hands are needed to work the splitter thus keeping them away from the mechanism when it is working – a very useful safety device.
An added advantage is that the splitter is very quiet when working.

The third machine from this company is the Einhell BT-LS 610 Log Splitter, also currently on special offer.
This vertical splitter has three height adjustments all easily made so it can take logs from 10 cm and up to 32 cm in diameter and from 10 cm to 104 cm long.
This one has a splitting force of six tons enabling it to deal with heavier grained and twisted woods like oak branches, thorn and fruit as it has a 2200 Watt electric motor to provide the power.
Plates with two clamps ensure the wood to be split is securely held, and again, two hands are needed when operating it. It has transport wheels to make it easier to move around.
