Take gardening inspiration from a flower show
When planning things to do with certain areas of a green space, green-fingered enthusiasts and gardening professionals alike are spoilt for choice for sources of inspiration.

However, some of the most directly relevant examples can be found in any of the prestigious flower shows that frequently take place throughout the UK.

From April 12th to 13th, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) will be playing host to the London Orchid & Botanical Art Show.

Some of the rarest and most exotic orchids in the world will be on display here – and works of botanical art will also be on show.

Everyone from amateurs to specialist growers has been invited to participate – and a wide range of species and hybrids will be on sale.

Horticulturist and orchid specialist for the RHS David McLaughlin said that there will be talks taking place on both days for those who wish to learn more about certain plants.

All of the exhibitors are experienced growers in their own right and will be happy to share their extensive knowledge with attendees who have any questions.

Those who wish to grow any of the plants on show here will want to make sure their garden is thoroughly prepared.

Particular attention should be paid to the soil with plants like orchids – and cultivators and tillers are the ideal tools to do this.

"The RHS London Orchid & Botanical Art Show is unique in that it is the first international orchid show of the year in the UK and provides access to a wide range of high-quality orchids that aren't commonly available, yet are attractive and easy to grow," Mr McLaughlin said.

"Naturally, there will also be more challenging plants for sale so there's something for everyone," he added.
