We may be experiencing a few mild autumnal days with leaves floating in the breeze but winter’s on its way and the odd frosty morning is a reminder that snow will soon be here.
The latest snow blowers can keep larger properties and businesses going through all blizzards and here are two new machines just released for this winter.
The MTD ME 66 Snow Blower / Thrower – 2 Stage Self-Propelled is perfect if you have long drives or car parks to keep clear so life can go on as usual.
This machine has a clearing width of 66 cm and is a two stage blower with a metal auger breaking down the snow and ice and forcing it back to an impellor to throw it out via a chute.
The augur is secured with sheer bolts to minimise serious damage.
It has a 277 cc Snow Thor engine designed to work in bitter weather and can deal with falls up to 53 cm deep.
The16 in wheel with heavy tread tyres propel the blower forward via four forward and two reverse gears.
Snow skids are adjustable to regulate the height at which it operates depending on the underlying surface.
The chute turns through 180 degrees and the direction and pitch are controlled by a joystick.
There is an electric starter motor and a central headlight for working when it gets murky.
This blower is for sale for £999 and that’s £300 less than the maker’s recommended retail price.
