2008 promises to be a great year for new product launches and at MowDIRECT we will be bringing you all the very latest lawnmowers, ride-on tractors, tillers, chainsaws and all manner of garden machinery from the best brands and leading manufacturers. Here I will give you just a very quick overview of some of the products already launched and in later posts we will bring you up to date on further releases as well as exploring in greater details some of the new products that could be at work in your garden this year.
Advances in technology often see manufacturers rushing to the drawing board to take advantage of the developments and this year has been no different with two exciting new product launches which we predict will become a great success. The first is a new Zero-Turn Garden Tractor from American manufacturer MTD which really stands to revolutionise lawn cutting for larger-sized gardens. It’s the very first product of its kind and not only will it greatly reduce the amount of time spent mowing your lawn but also it has the engine power to tow a whole range of tractor attachments – the first true zero-turn ride-on mower to possess this capability.
The second major breakthrough for this season is the expanded range of automatic robotic lawnmowers from MowBot with models now capable of mowing areas of lawn over an acre in size! This truly is significant because for the very first time there is now a zero-emission alternative to the petrol-guzzling ride-on tractor for those with large-size areas of lawn to maintain. These robot mowers are ideal for businesses and the time-conscious – and cheaper than paying someone to mow your lawn – so purchasing an automatic lawn mower in 2008 might just be your first big step of the year towards living a greener lifestyle or reaching lower emission targets for your business! Not that we are likely to see ride-on mowers disappear just yet. One model worth a mention is the new Lawnflite Mini Ride-on Mower which will be available from MowDIRECT for under £1000 and we believe will be amongst the best sellers this year. It’s the first ride-on mower in this kind of price range to offer both mulching and collection as standard and so will bring huge benefits to those with smaller-sized lawns and those working on a more limited budget.
Other more seasonal products for this time of year include the new Victus range of petrol and electric chainsaws. These are truly fabulous chain saws and simply out perform – and will out last – anything else within this price range with an expected working life of between 5-10 times that of other saws in this price range. Incredible stuff! I believe we’re even throwing in some free safety gear at present so can’t recommend them enough to anyone thinking of buying a chainsaw at present. Another in-season line of products MowDIRECT has just launched are an excellent range of log splitters by Al-Ko. If you haven’t come across these devices before they’re really the equivalent of mechanical axes but require a lot less effort on your part as well as being safer and faster than a traditional axe.
Invest in one of these machines and that large intimidating pile of logs you have just sawn up – hopefully with your new victus chainsaw! – will be turned into fire-sized pieces or wood in no time. Another line of products well worth a mention for this time of year is the newly expanded range of MTD Garden Tillers we sell. Those of you who keep a regular eye on our site may be familiar with our best selling MTD T245 Tiller for allotments and standard-sized vegetable gardens: this model is now joined by two more units, a smaller sized tiller offering the best specification for its class, the MTD 205 Tiller, and the larger sized MTD T380 Tiller which comes with adjustable tilling width and reverse drive.
