Garden machinery manufacturer Husqvarna is set to expand into the garden equipment market according to reports on servicedealer.com.
The Swedish garden machinery expert, which already hosts a wide range of tools from chainsaws and clearing saws to lawn mowers and hedge trimmers, has announced plans to buy Japanese manufacturer Komatsu Zenoah.
AFX news reports that Husqvarna has paid $155 million (£78 million) for the supplier of chainsaws, lawn mowers and garden trimming equipment, which created an annual turnover of $170 million (£85 million).
In addition, Husqvarna has recently agreed an acquisition deal which will see Klippo AB, the largest producer of petrol-driven walk-behind lawnmowers for the Swedish market, join its family.
Gardena Holding AG of Germany is its most recent purchase, costing the Swedish garden tool company a whopping 730 million euros (£435 million), adding garden sprinklers and water pumps to its ever-expanding product list.
