Gammies Groundcare and Construction Equipment has won the contract to become the main dealer for Hayter and Toro gardening equipment in the north of the UK.
The Hayter Commercial Dealer contract has been awarded for the areas of Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Dundee, Highland, Moray, Orkney Isles, Shetland Isles and the Western Isles.
Toro's dealership meanwhile will focus on north Scotland, following the news that previous dealer, Scottish Grass Machinery, had gone into administration last November.
In related news, Toro has announced that all its diesel-powered golf course and sports fields and grounds equipment will be Biodiesel Ready by 2008.
According to Pitchcare.co.uk, the Toro Reelmaster, Groundsmaster, Greensmaster, Workman and MultiPro product ranges will be among the machines leading the way in its quest to become more environmentally aware.
Mike Hoffman, chairman and chief executive officer of the Toro Company, told the site: "Our biodiesel readiness initiative is part of a commitment to developing innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers and help to better the environment."
