Echo produces gardening tips for April
Mowdirect news > Echo

Spring can prove to be a busy time for Britain's gardeners, which is why garden tool producers Echo have come up with a few handy hints to help them get their lawn and beds in tip-top condition.
Now the sun is out and the weather's a bit warmer, plants aren't the only things growing as weeds begin to spring up out of the soil.
Hoeing and hand-weeding are essential at this time of year and Echo recommends that all flower beds are carefully tended to so that new seedlings and bedded plants are given as much room and nutrients as possible in the early stages.
The lawn needs a lot of attention too throughout April, with mowing sessions occurring as often as twice a week to keep the grass looking lush and green.
Other jobs for the lawn include scarifying and removing any moss left over from March and removing any daisies, dandelions or plantains which have grown during the past month.
Finally, Echo recommends that gardeners prune back any hedges as soon as they have finished flowering, such as the Hebe Salicifolia.
Evergreen hedges like Leylandi, Lonicera and Privet should also be trimmed, although deciduous hedging such as Beech or Horn beam and evergreen hedging such as Yew and Western Red Cedar should be left until mid-to-late summer.
