Atco electric shredder ideal for 'quiet garden waste disposal'

Investing in a garden shredder can provide homeowners with a convenient way to dispose of the large amounts of green waste the average garden generates throughout the year.

What's more, garden waste is also a key source of natural compostable material for those who are ecologically minded.

The Atco 1800 Quiet Garden Shredder features a spiral blade system that revolves at 260rpm and creates significantly less noise than traditional impact blade shredders at only 84 decibels, according to horticultural machinery expert MowDirect.

Shredded material, including branches up to 35mm in diameter, is cut and crushed to produce waste chippings ready to be used for compost.

Powered by a 1,800 Watt motor, the Gtech electric model works at a rate of 115kg per hour and comes complete with five meters of cable.

The composting process can be accelerated by allowing micro-organisms and oxygen to infiltrate the garden material for use as mulch on flower beds or as a weed suppressant.
