Al-Ko 380HM Hand-Propelled Cylinder Lawn Mower ideal for regular cutting

Al-ko When it comes to choosing a hand-propelled lawn mower, easy-use features such as lightweight build and manoeuvrability are key.

With this in mind, the Al-Ko 380HM Soft Touch Premium Hand-Propelled Cylinder Lawn Mower, available at MowDirect for just £99.00 (including VAT at 15 per cent), appears to tick all the boxes.

The manual mower boasts a 38cm width-of-cut and is easily manoeuvrable around garden features to produce a close finish.

According to gardening equipment specialist MowDirect, its contact-free cutting system reduces noise and is ideal for use on lawns that are maintained on a regular basis.

Grass seed company Lawn UK recommends mowing young grass when it reaches two to three inches high and once a week in spring and autumn.

The experts advise gardeners not to cut a newly-planted lawn for the first time when damp and suggests mowing just three-quarters of an inch for optimum growth.
