Staff at school brave sky dive to raise funds for sensory garden
Mowdirect news > Gardening News

Alison Patel writes: Staff at a Scottish school have completed a sponsored sky dive to raise funds for a sensory garden, South Ayrshire Council reported.
Acting head teacher Jane Gordon and teacher Kimberley Keenan took to the skies to complete the daredevil stunt.
Invergarven school is hoping to create the garden to give pupils a range of sensory experiences to aid their development and bring enjoyment at the same time.
Councillor Hywel Davies, portfolio carrier for learning and prosperity, said: "I would like to congratulate [the teachers] on raising funds and thank everyone who sponsored them. I am sure that the garden will be a great success and I look forward to seeing it once it is complete."
The garden will contain plants, herbs, a water feature and various textured materials. Pupils will be given input into the design of the garden so that it "reflects their needs" and gives them a sense of ownership.
