Alison Patel writes: A new show on Channel Five will see TV-presenter Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen scouring the country to find the nation's best garden, broadcastnow.co.uk has reported.
Entitled I Own Britain's Best Home & Garden, the show will air in September in four installments and the winner will receive the National Gardens Scheme Gold Medal Award.
There will be three gardens featured in each episode and the entrants will have the pleasure of Llewelyn-Bowen's company for a day as he sees how the owners created their "horticultural masterpieces".
Llewylen- Bowen will head up a panel of experts who will make the final decision on which gardener will be honored with the prize.
He will be joined by garden designer Anne Wareham, RHS Chelsea judge Mark Gregory, and Laetitia Maklouf, author of The Virgin Gardener.
Gardeners keen to emulate the featured designs will be given tips throughout the programme on how best to recreate the layout and planting.
One of the leading contenders for the previous series of 'I Own Britain's Best Garden', Martin Dyer, owner of Lechlade, Gloucestershire, told the Independent: "The biggest task was the garden. The maze, which was there when we arrived, took me three weeks to cut it the first year we were here."
