Beautiful Victorian garden to be opened to public
Mowdirect news > Gardening News
Wednesday, June 11 2008 17:36:02 by Emily Jenkins
Emily Jenkins writes: A garden that has taken its carers five years to restore to its Victorian splendour will be welcoming visitors this summer.
Tannachie, a one-and-a-half acre garden on the western slopes of the Malvern Hills, will be opening to the public on June 15th.
Diana and Roger Morgan have restored some of the garden's key features such as the 35 metre herbaceous border and the children's play area, Worcester News reported.
Ms Morgan explained the appeal of Tannachie to the local portal.
"One of the best things about the garden is the views," she said. "We're quite high up on the Malverns and you can look over to Hay Bluff. I do enjoy the garden enormously. I'm planning what to do next all the time."
Magnolias, azaleas, crinodendron hookerianum, gunnera, fig and vine are all on display and are protected by the two giant redwoods and a deodara cedar which give the garden shade.
Entry is free for children and the money collected from adult admission charges (£3) will go to the National Garden Scheme.
