Monday, April 28 2008 11:42:31 by Tony Domingo
Tony Domingo writes: Edinburgh's Royal Blind School has unveiled a new sensory garden for its pupils.
The garden is the culmination of more than a year of hard work and includes water features, storytelling areas and sweet-smelling flower beds, the BBC reports.
The outdoor space was officially unveiled by the Duke of Buccleuch last Thursday (April 24th) and forms part of a wider redevelopment of the site.
A new £2.5 million house, which will home around 25 people who are both disabled and visually impaired, was also officially opened at the ceremony.
Meanwhile, a new garden has also been unveiled at a Northfleet-based care facility.
Residents of the Lions Hospice will be able to enjoy their new outdoor space thanks to the help of property development company Land Securities.
According to reports in the News Shopper, around 20 employees of the firm took part in the project which will provide the hospice with an attractive venue to host its fundraising activities.
