Emily Jenkins writes: Children from a school in Peterborough are helping parents and volunteers turn a patch of disused land into a 'secret wildlife garden'.
The Facet Primary School will turn the piece of land, which is on the grounds of the establishment, into an outdoor space designed to attract nature, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph reports.
The garden will help children learn about the natural environment and will include ponds, animal boxes, to help attract birds and bats, and an array of plants.
Plans to revamp the garden were part of the school's 'Make a Difference Day', with local charity Froglife also set to don lawnmowers and hedgetrimmers to help create the outdoor space.
Meanwhile, according to the Scarborough Evening News, volunteers of the local Rotoract social club have helped revamp the garden of Wheatcroft Nursery.
