Prospective homebuyers attracted to gardens

A property which has a garden will be much more attractive to a potential owner than one which does not have any outside space.
That is the opinion of the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA), which has asserted that homes which sit in pleasant surroundings are infinitely more attractive than property such as high rise flats.
Kate Henderson, communications manager for the TCPA, said that green space is "integral to more environmental design". She made her comments while discussing the use of brownfield land green space, which she said should be used for "desirable housing".
She explained: "The regeneration of brownfield land should seek to enhance the quality of life for those who live and work there, supporting a richness of biodiversity and creating a positive sense of place.
"Homes with gardens attract people. Green space is not only important in creating desirable housing, it is also integral to more environmental design. Fundamental to housing provision is the creation of proper neighbourhood centres and not urban deserts."
