A garden which pays tribute to former pupils has been created by teachers and students at a school in Tamworth.
The beautiful new space at Belgrave High School was officially opened last week and has been named The Lion Heart Garden.
It comprises a pond, a sensory area, a cascading water feature, a maze dome, reflective murals and various bedding areas for lots of different plants, icTamworth reports.
There is also a rabbit area for the children to enjoy, as well as several benches which have been dedicated to previous pupils.
Belgrave High humanities teacher Michael Chiles, who is also garden co-ordinator, is extrememly pleased with the way the outside space has turned out.
He said: "I am really proud of the effort our pupils have put in to this garden. It is a fitting memorial for pupils who are sadly no longer with us, as well as a fantastic educational tool for our current pupils."
A group of 14 students aged 11 to 15 helped to design the garden, which was funded with a National Lottery grant as well as help from the National Memorial Arboretum.
