A hospice based in Wiltshire is to benefit from the proceeds of a fundraising drive that will see several private gardens open their gates to the general public.
Dorothy House Hospice's fundraising season will involve 20 local supporters who have all agreed to help raise money for patient by opening their gardens, Thisiswiltshire.co.uk reports.
Currently, 20 gardens have signed up for the fundraising scheme. This includes the hospice grounds in Winsley, which on May 15th will be open for the Dorothy House Plant & Art Fair, three village gardens in Worton and the grounds of The Apthorp Centre in Bath.
In addition, the award-winning Corston Fields Farm near Bath will open on July 13th and in June the village of Keevil, near Trowbridge, will open five gardens which range in style and size.
In 2007, the hospice's open gardens season managed to raise over £4,000 for patient care.
